Just a quickie - can anyone find me a photo of a Mk1 Astra limited edition which was painted black & silver and called 'Berlina' or 'Berlinetta' or something?
Pretty sure it was black at the top and bottom and silver in the middle, possibly with blue or red piping.
Not 100% sure what I'm on about here as you can probably guess!
Thankyou....

...berlina or berlinetta would be an opel badge. Oh yes I forgot that bit... What does the Opel version look like then as I think the car I'm trying to find a photo of was Opel badged. Ie FWD Opel Kadett (maybe in black and silver). Fairly certain it's got 'berlina / berlinetta' in the name but I didn't think that was ever attached to any Kadett. I thought only Mantas got that name. Thankyou for the Astra Celebrity photos, but it's not that unfortunately! Mk1 Astra's a good looking car though.

first FWD Opel Kadett was the mk1 Vauxhall Astra. Its called the "Kadett Type D" Same car in almost every respect. I had the Opel version years ago. The Opel came with a few "estra economy" options on the base model such as a hinged bootlid instead of a full tailgate (meaning it wasn't a hatch back) or round headlights. I don't think either of these was offered on the Astra but may be wrong. Here's one with round lights: Mine had normal Mk1 Astra style lights.

i always had a soft spot for these,i remember my dad had a brand new bright orange opel kadett with black plastic arches and alloys when i was about 4/5,i know theres a pic of it around somewhere but i'll be damned if i can find it it was the same shape as the astras above tho. He traded a manta in for it as we lived in a desolate part of scotland the nearest dealer was opel so every one had one of some description lol ;D love the one with the round lights, was that not the povo spec one?

Maybe it was a Kadett/Astra SR? they came in two tone black & silver. The Kadett berlina was just a higher spec kadett, like an Astra GL, & came in all colours, I don't remember seeing any two tone ones though.
