yeah that is cage tubing.i had a feeling you would be the one to point that out haha. i know a place that did my friends rollcage, and i might ask them to do the main hoop on their bender, purely because id rather not make a piece of tube that was a real pain in the ass to do and worry about possibly fudging it up. the other tubing that is permitted for rest of the cage is allowed to be smaller than the main hoop, and benders i've come across should cope with that fine.
i still want a bender though purely cos i really seem to have a fetish for all things tube orientated and have loads of stuff i want to make aswell thats not car orientated, and I'm fed up of scratting around for bits and bobs of tube that may on the offchance be the right shape i need.

Well The 2nd hand info was slightly out this is the reply I got back: "He builds drag cars (his dad is a farmer/groundsman) and he fits cages into these. One of them saved his life, so guess he knows his stuff. He quoted me around £500 to fit an unpainted weld in cage to my mk1 about 2 years ago. Not sure what he would charge now. The work of his I have seen was good. His name is John Sleath. See www.john-sleath.com/ " Another guy in the Robinson race car mould Sorry if I got your hopes up, but he should still be worth talking to I think Caged will bend to your specs as well.... You could always Bend it up in 2" exhaust tubing and give it to them as a pattern HTH Dom

John Sleath races Street Eliminator. A guy in the VWDRC knows him fairly well and speaks highly of him. If i were you i'd pick up a copy of custom car and just speak to the people closest to you. Andy Robinson, John Webster, Chris Isaacs, John Sleath are all worth having a word with - i think Andy Frost also does cages, but I'm not 100% on that. Pricing is very similar between them all, you are typically looking at £100-£125 per point.
