That's pretty insane, must take a mental amount of patience to get it right. The outdoor ones must be a mission to get painted and ready before the light conditions change and mess up the colours.

Liu Bolin is making a political statement about life in modern China, you know. In lieu (no pun intended) of free speech, the sublety of his art is all he's got to work with. Think about what it means for the individual to be "invisible" against these backdrops and situations. Then you can take the pebble from my hand, grasshopper.....

You're right Grizz, the last two are amazing. The ghost-style one really gives the 'Invisible Man' some credentials.

this guys efforts are 100% better than some lanc students skoda Agreed,to a point. The stuff he's done is absolutey mind blowing, especially the digger an the final "ghost" one. To get the shades etc to matchthe lighting conditions must take absolutely ages! Bit harsh on that girl tho,I think that's pretty mega to be fair! Not quite at the same level of awesomeness, but it's still bloody impressive!

possibly, but anyone who's art project depends on one view from one angle, controlled by the art'eest and allows themselves to be photographed wearing their granny's string bag on their head, needs help from medical professionals, rather than a passmark. Iam sure she will go on to greater things, do you want fries with that?
Liu Bolin is in a totally different league. A true original.

Lui Bolin's 'art' wouldn't work from any other angle than the position of the camera either. Has the been any footage of Lui creating his work? I find it staggering how he can paint his extremeties and parts so near to his head whilst keeping everything in perspective. Mirror perhaps?

And a gallery with some more background information: TelegraphAnd, it has mentioned passers-by not seeing him, so I guess it would work from more angles than the Skoda, especially as he's a lot flatter too! IBTL:
