just went to upload some pics and it seems photobucket has gone from an image hosting site to another bloody 'lifestyle' site all I want to do is upload some bloody pics, and its now a right rigmarole to do it. I cant even figure out how to contact them to complain, can anyone else see a 'complain about new updates' option, or can anyone figure out if its possible to revert to the old version? why cant they just leave something that works alone?! it took me nearly 5 mins to actually figure out where the album i wanted to upload to was.....

if you go to "my home" its the same as going to "my albums". From there its pretty much the same as it was before with the single and bulk uploaders and such

cheers AK, managed to cut out some of the guff by changing my bookmarks. i really don't see why all the other cr4p is neccessary though. if i just put in photobucket.com into my broswer, i have to go through 5 pages to get to my album, it was one click before whilst I'm winging, does anyone know if its possible to get rid of the 'add tags' page after ive uploaded? so it just takes me straight back to the album without bringing that page up? I'm on a very slow connection here, so getting rid of anything like that speeds things up drastically.

It's a nightmare isn't it?! I think they're trying to turn it into a Flickr clone. Most annoying. I don't think you can get around the "Add tags" bit. Even Windoze Vista asks me if I want to add them. Ack.

I love flickr.... just wish there was a method to generate a load of tags in one hit like photobucket!

I turned the 'add tags' off after finally finding the option hidden somewhere!! It was either in the account options menu somewhere or the 'upload options' in the upload toolbar (the options section that allows you to choose the size of imported files) Sorry I can't be more accurate, but it can be done As for the 'new' menu system...>AAAAARRRGGGGHHHH - utter gash! Why would I want the opening page to be full of thumbnails then when I click 'all albums' it literally lists every single album and sub-album! Alistair, I think I'll be following your idea of bookmarking the 'normal' home page from now on. Avoid all the new cr4p!

heh, anyone else noticed that the uploader only looks for lower case file extensions? My camera tags with .JPG so the files don't show up in the selection box (which is also a stupid size unless you have a 1600 wide monitor ) Might be time to move anyway... it's almost full

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

On a slightly different note... does anyone else (with FF) have to turn Adblocker off for 'bucket to work properly? It's the only site I've ever been on that doesn't like it.

I normally use Opera but just tried uploading a pic on FF and it works ok, I do remember it being very slow last year and seizing up, thats when i changed to using Chrome and Opera and not had a problem since. saying that i don't mess with my pics in photobucket either, not clever enough

I run FF with Ubuntu Linux operating system. The Adblocker is permanently on and I've not noticed any problems with photobucket or any site I visit. If you're running windows it's probably deliberate. Microsoft and photobucket just lurve exposing you to ads.

I always liked Photobucket as it was always bookmarked to my page, so have never seen anything else. And then they had to make 'tagging' mandatory after you upload a picture. It's a pain in the . Leave this to Flickr, PB is just a picture hosting site, nothing more!!! I don't like Imgur as I like to keep my internet pics catalogued. Picasa is good, but a bit tricky, as some people can't see the pics due to privacy settings. I have a Flickr account, but it's too technical when I just want 'THE OLD STYLE OF PHOTOBUCKET'.

Click 'more options' under the big blue button. 2. Uncheck 'add more tags and descriptions after upload' ..sorry for the wanky quality of the pic, shoulda made it 2 pics to stop photobucket making it even smaller. Lol.
