Hi all, ive just picked up a V12 XJS which has pretty much been my dream car since I was a kid. As such something has got to go so its this. However this really is to a good home only.
Jaguar 2.9 Sovereign Auto 1990. Digital odometer showing mileage at just 29000 miles and old Mots + paperwork points to this being genuine. 3 owners from new and MOT and TAX till Feb next year so ready to just jump in and enjoy. The car is an absolute joy to drive and once moving (its not the fastetst to 40 mph ) it flows along very nicely returning 40 mpg on a run (far less round town though).
The engine is lovely on it and the auto box changes gear faultlessly.
As you can imagine with such low mileage the inside is in very good condition. It comes with a Herringbone Cloth interior which I never liked at first, however is so comfortable and warm in the winter its lovely. The wood/doorcards etc are in very good condition and the cd player works as it should
All the electrics work with the only warning light showing being low brake pads, however the abs still works perfectly.
Underneath is in excellent condition. Very solid and I can not find any welding ever done on it.
Tracking needs adjusting and 1 tyre replacing, however brakes well and in a straight line.
Bodywork wise the front bonnet has bubbled, along with the rear tailgate (usual for these), but other than that the car is in excellent condition.
Even though this is an 90 car it still qualifies for classic car insurance. Currently £110 Fully comp for me.
The car owes me £400 which I think was a bargain so am willing to pass it on for the same price but would like this to go to an enthusiast. I will try to post some better pics tomorrow when there is more light.
