I'm going to end this year without ANY cars on the road - retro or otherwise, so 2010 will have to start by having one of the fleet on the road!
like to get the lada done in time for the awards night like to get the 32 done in time for chumley castle in may like to get the laurel on the road like to get to the gathering for the entire weekend, and not have to paint anything! like to get down to area 52
Reality will see yet more dust fall over the cars in the barn, progress at a snails pace, - and I have ALREADY broken my pre-emptive new years resolution not to buy anything else!
should be a good un though! - HW, can the gathering please not clash with the hayride this year??

Almost on the road: b11 sunny breadvan, e36 tds, 325i skidcar,
nearly there: ford f250 tathauler, suzuki alto, u11 bluey
not for a while: ford pop, 32 rails,
not in this lifetime: ruby, '29 hillman

Okay...
1. Get the XJ6 on the road in time for an early May shakedown cruise to Newquay with the local Mini club.
2. Attend Le Mans classic in the XJ6
3. Finally get around to putting an XJR-6 engine in my project Jag. even if it doesn't run. Just in..!
4. Getting all four engines running on the 1954 Avro Shackleton I've been playing with
5. Christmas in Paris, with the XJ6. There is a couple of pretty girls involved and I have my orders!
It's shaping up to be a fun year.
Regards
Ric

Having been made redundant this year (who would've thought the highest ranking Debt Collector in a Government Department would lose their job in this day and age?) The first goal is to get a decent job again. Mainly so I can finish the Doctor Aka, the Commodore. It's about 90% there, enough to be usable day-to-day. But the motor needs a basic rebuild, as does the gearbox, and a myriad of little things that'll make it reliable enough to do 1000 miles in a day. At least all this hot weather has made it possible to test the cooling capabilities of the Doctor. And boy does it need air-conditioning! If there's any cash after that, the long awaited respray for the Morrie is the other goal for 2010. I miss taking that thing on the twisties and scaring the sports bikers. Ahh, cash. Where are you when I need you?

1) Fix the Imp's driveshaft doughnuts (again!) 2) Same as for the last 3 years - get a better engine in the Imp 3) Get some fresh paint on the Imp - even if it's just rollered rustoleum 4) Sort out the Imp's interior 5) Sell the Mongdeo.
Hopefully, if there's some spare cash floating about, get the Imp on alloys.
Wishful thinking: -Get the rover running and sold -learn to weld, make a start on the Imp Californian.

First up is for the Herald to see the road again. That should happen in January, before the Awards night I hope.
I hoped 2010 was going to see the Oxford back on the road but that is now unlikely as its been neglected due to other things. So I want 2010 to see the front end of it completely finished, engine bay painted and rolling on its refurbished suspension leaving just rear end welding and paint to do.
The Hillman will have new wheels for the summer.
I also want to take car/trailer tent combo across the channel or up to Scotland.

Mandatory1) I've just bought a BMW E32 735i to carry on where my E28 left off. I have wheels and I have some ideas on coilovers so expect a very low 7 series with some lovely dish. It will be at the Ace in January. 2) I will finally get an E21 back on the road by finishing my long awaiting 24V M50B25 conversion in my track 323i 3) I will be drifting the hell out of an E30 Optional4) I'll resurrect the E28 5) I'll fix this up to sell, E21 323i Baur And inbetween those I'll generally be having a great time, here's to looking forward to 2010!

Driving the GS to RRG10! After RRG10 I'll strip the GS and deliver it to a professional spraypainter.
Fitting fuel injection to the 309, but I might even get that done this year... Then once weather and winter-tire-laws permit fit some new racey tires to it and drive as much as possible slaloms and trackdays.

This year has been a bit of a loss for me, with my world being turned upside down when my dad passed away. There was just no time or reason for me to do much in the way of car stuff. But no some time has passed things are a little more setteled and ive decided that 2010 will be, for me, a dedication to him. Plans are to sell of alot of his belongings/hobbys/tatt, and use the funds from that to restore........... the blue one in this pic. My dad built it afew years ago from 99% brand new parts, including the bodyshell so i know its totaly rust free. He built it to his own spec, so i plan to do the same, and with 20 years of these cars behind me I'm kinda looking forward to the results. The sandglow one will be sold, and having done over 150,000 miles in it, its going to be like selling a brother So, in a nutshell, my plans for 2010 is to build the best Maxi ever, for my dad, in his memory. BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!

Plans..... I always have plans, rarely do them -Decided to jog on WMD as its never going to get done. Might spend some time getting her running and MOT'd just so she'll survive. -Fit the V6 in the Mk2 and get it rocking. Might well sell on we shall see. -Tidy up the viva for now. -Do some paintwork and interior mods to the senator Fairly hard stuff some of it, but should be awesomes if I pull it off Also de-bodge it! Do more drifting. oh and when WMD has gone, find a cheap / free HC Viva for next project Nothing tooooooooooooooo taxing. Oh yeah fix and jog on the t4 van, and TIDY THE UNIT!

Put off from this year, want to lift the engine, box and subframe out of the GTA, get the engine rebuilt and running, all back in and on the road.
Might even have time then to think about paint...

Hmm, I think some realistic and modest targets are in order here: 1) Complete my degree. 2) Get a job, hopefully using said degree. (Could anybody out there use a motorsports technology graduate? No harm in asking... ) 3) Learn to drive. 4) Buy any old piece of curse word and drive it everywhere with the sheer excitement of actually having a car

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

2010 will be spent hopefully looking for one of these: And one of these: Both oil-burners. Failing that, just to make it through another 12 months will do me just fine. ;D
