Unimogs are still in use with the RAF fitted with Snow ploughs for Runway clearing, based in Britain ...and most are late 70'S ones with less than 5k on the clock Incidently in the late 80's early 90's UNIMOG became there own 'name' and detached it's self so to speak from Mercedes but now its back under the Mercedes/Damiler/Chrysler co.

That new unimog is hideous, saying that I think styling has never been at the top of their priority list.
1100nm of torque is astonishing!!!!! What engine speed is that at? That’s 810 lbft. I understand the torquiest car available off the shelf is the Bentley arnage T at 645 lbft, from a 6.7 ltr twin turbo petrol engine. Are those unimogs petrol or diesel? Any more tech info on them?

I know a bloke in the Falklands who has an old one. It was an Argentine one left after the Falklands war. Rough as hell now no electrics, Landrover Fuel tank rotten cab but it'll still drive all over the farm all day...great fun
