Went to the first car meet of the year this morning, held in the grounds(then for about half a mile up and down the A30) of The Phoenix pub in Hartley Wintney, almost 200 cars from a 1910 vintage right up to an XJ220 turned out with plenty of retro fodder to see. We arrived just before 11am and were left to park the 1303 in the road Theres lots of pics in the "motorsport" section of www.speedman29.co.uk/ but heres a taster definately one for the diary next year, despite the early start after seeing in the new year till 3am

I always seem to miss out on these local events! Looks like a decent turnout too.

Wibble. Cool photos. What's that, it's really nice! ;D Is it an AC or an Italian mota? neither, its a Jensen (not sure which one though) I'm sure they'd be similar meets all over the country, I found out from a Caterham forum my brothers on, we were spoilt for choice as there was another show being held at Brooklands race track which is only 45 mins from us, but the pub won as it was free

He's right, it's a Jensen 541, with the mad adjustable grille panel for adjusting how hot the engine runs, sort of the way lorry drivers used to drape old tarpaulins over the grilles of the lorries when they were driving through snow to stop the engine running too cold and the diesel waxing up (that and because all the air going into the cab on old British lorries used to come through the engine bay, so if it was that cold in the engine bay then the driver froze too!), only an adjustable grille's slightly more elegant than sticking a sheet over the front of your Jensen! ;D Cool photos by the way Speedman, a good selection of rear engined stuff too, not just VWs! Renault Dauphine Cool little 4CV I seem to remember this thing packing quite a punch, that's not standard engine living in the back of this 500! Incidentally Skodanorman, I think you're right, it looks like an Ural, although I'm no expert on bikes. Probably not as old as you might think either, they were based on a WWII BMW military design captured by the Red Army and kept as reparations, so it's an old design, but they went on to make them for decades afterwards, as far as I know there's still a version in production, and apparently there's a Chinese copy in production as well.

Cool, but I bet you have to pay extra for the Kalashnikov! ;D ;D Still, just the thing for a revolution, now all I need to do is find a company who still builds T34 tanks! ;D ;D
