I am thinking of doing this rally next year.
The basic rules are production car of 1400cc or less.
I have toyed with the idea of RWD escort or chevette but modifications are minimal and I want to be competitive.
So current options are 106 XSI or rallye AX GT or Nova 1.4SR. Out of the above and given the regs I think I can make the nova most competetive.
Anyone else got any other ideas.
PS. I will not consider a metro ;D

that series is on motors tv a lot, and the presenter did it in a rover 25 mg thingummy and did quite well. cant get much cheaper than a 214 si at the mo go k series ;D

rich this is an ace idea, if not a little insane. for those who havnt seen phoenix he's a huge man, not fat huge, but f*cking muscular huge, and at least 6'4".kind of penski-esque but bigger! I'm not sure you'll fit in any of these cars. however, id say nova.not bad looking in rally guise and has been pointed out squillions of bits to rally it up. junior dave metcalfe (rip), here we go. ;D

I spectated/marshalled on a stage of the Revival in November, there was loads of 205/106/Nova etc, pretty quick and nimble cars, myself, if i was to take part mext year, i'd go for something retro (my Rapid) but something like the AX or Suzuki Swift would be great. Was a couple of AX's and they seemed pretty competitive.

Had considered the swift as well. As I remember 100bhp from the 1300. I am sure I will fit somehow Need to check and see what can be done but basically no forced induction, no none standard engines (so nova into chevette doesnt go ). No rollcages helmets or race suits required. I am really considering the Nova option if I can find a good 1400SR that hasnt been barry`ed. They make a pretty good light competition car with decent handling with a few mods. I had even considered a 1300 maestro but just not enough power shame I couldnt fit a 1.4 K series.

Rover 114 16v?
It's a k-series so tuning bits aplenty.

I would love to use a skoda estelle or rabid but 50 bhp is not going to be that competitive

bit of money here and there and you've got yourself a neat machine. i admit tho...to get a seriousily good set up you've gotta pay out for decent suspension/cams/carbs...and then you want to be using it on more than one event. good pics tho. also - it's 62bhp!
