yeah, job done! After much cursing and swearing in the cold today I now have the hood and windows fitted properly ;D there was no way it was going to fit the hood was at least an inch to small, this was one I bought 2nd hand which came off a later car (mine is a '68, hood was from a '72) but I didn't think they were different? Anyway, I ended up cutting an inch out of the rear support bar (using a spare hood frame I had) and now it all fits nicely. Would have taken a photo but it was pitch black by the time I finished

the pair of black plastic curved things are hood frame covers for the frame when you have the hood down, designed to cover the ends of the metal work.............usually missing / broken they usually get broken as people tend to force them on

I did a bit of work for a mate who is an Armourer over Christmas and was chatting about the Trekker and in lieu of payment he made me this ;D Absolutely perfect, to scale replica of a German Stick Grenade is now my gear lever (it's hollow, slid over the original gear lever and screwed on using the original threaded bit at the top). Was going to paint the end bit green like an original in this pic ... but kinda like it how it is so may leave it bare aluminium. What do you think?

Green paint a must, and get your friend the armourer to cut you a German stencil to stencil something clever to put on there too.
Great looking job Kerry.

well the Trekker has gone today Couldn't really justify keeping it as it just wasn't getting used (I filled it with petrol the day I got it 3 months ago and it still has half a tank left! ). It's going to a good home - a guy from Devcon bought it to do classic trails in - he's just left to drive from Surrey back to Devon in the dark in a 40 year old car with no heating, and it is forecast to snow! - I hope he lives to tell the tale Anyway - it gave me an excuse to buy something more user friendly so I got this.......... not really Retro but bloody good fun ;D ;D
