Ha, I'm not on the road all that much at all anymore, I used to go with him a lot when I was in school though, or more to the point should've been in school, but was hundreds of miles away! ;D ;D The Haulage industry's much different nowadays anyway, for someone growing up nowadays who missed the chance to see the industry in its glory days, it'd be much different, in the 80s and the start of the 90s the oldschool type drivers were still getting away with charging about in Scannie 111s with no speed limiters and no tachographs, driving all night and all the rest, but these days it's more like watching for speed cameras, getting hassled by the police, being screwed about by the people you're working for and being treated like scum by the general public. The days of digs and cafes where the drivers are respected and well treated are all over, nowadays it's all dingy cafes with nowhere to park and eating your sandwiches in laybys because yet another town won't let lorry drivers in. Shame really because it was a good life while it lasted, it's all different now, screwed by the lawmakers and social attitude.
Anyway, this is a four wheeled 141, which was the V8 engined model of the 111, beautiful engine, shame this is only a 38tonne GVW motor, the V8 handles the weight amazingly, although the bigger sizes of the inline six do almost as well.
