I've been lurking for a while on here but don't really post much but thought its about time i did as looking to buy some wheels off someone on here.
I've a 1972 mini running a 1380cc 16v BMW head on fuel injection 167bhp at the wheels which is my weekend toy. Was running a 1293cc with a weber which i then changed to bike carbs. Also have a 1998 Saab 9-3 HOT but that may have to be sold soon due to cash and not using it.
Sorry no pictures as computer is busted and using phone which takes ages!

Welcome to RR! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Your Mini sounds great, is the head from a BMW motorbike? I'm sure I heard of that being possible somewhere. 167BHP seems absolutely great in such a small car! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Hi Yes BMW K series bike head and throttle bodies on A series block and gearbox Not mapped in Sheffield but there are a few of these conversions around now some including turbo. Peak power on mine is 8400rpm but will go round to 9000 I'll see if I can get a picture up (hope this works) Its an old picture from when I was installing the engine as its all complete now with front mounted rad and Tb's installed etc ![](http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t41/udomini/DSC00119.jpg) oh and Titianium replacement subframe inc Ti bottom arms top arms and hubs ;D ![](http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t41/udomini/DSC00065.jpg) ![](http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t41/udomini/DSC00068.jpg) Ian

Nice bit of kit! I take it it's not standard A-series internals? I love the idea of an A-series redlining at 9k rpm! Mental! ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

Wow, that looks like mega fun! A freind of mine used to have a Clubman years ago that he dropped a 2.0ltr 16V vauxhall lump in. It was mental. We took it to York dragway so see how it would do but he found he had to launch in 3rd as the first 2 gears would just rip the tyres up! This looks like a more managable set up though. What's the torque steer like? If you floored the 16V lump, you were constantly fighting with the wheel to keep it straight. Oh, and welcome. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

you must have a damn good job to afford this lot.
I'm guessing all steel internals as principle but what gearbox are you using?

Mental! ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) Fully worked crank, worked Innocenti rods (stronger than standard ones) ARP bolts etc Wow, that looks like mega fun! Oh, and welcome. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) There always seems to be an issue with using the redtop or vtec engines as the gearing doesnt suit the smaller wheels. This is on standard ratios so not an issue, torque steer taken care of by an equal length drive shaft kit and the diff you must have a damn good job to afford this lot. I'm guessing all steel internals as principle but what gearbox are you using? No not a damn good job, just decided that whats the point in saving since paper round and not enjoying it, you only live once and all that Gearbox has straight cut gears and straight cut drops with semi helical CROWN wheel and pinion and Qaiffe LSD Gearbox makes quite a bit of noise though so do have ear defenders in the car ;D
