Always had a soft spot for these but was put off by Rovers eating HG's for brekfast, lunch and dinner! Love the interior in these aswell those seats look like thrones! Fancu making an office chair out of a spare! They easy or cheap to pick up 2nd hand? It's all about the Orange nose! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) already done mate - I got hold of a complete interior so I could replace the driver seats with a better one. the spare passenger seat is mint and i've acquired an office chair base from work. pics up soon. the spare back seat will be stripped for the leather and used in the car

Just a quick update on the new head gasket that I had done back in january this year. I used the new nanjing "n" series/xpart ultimate HG kit, which includes an updated uprated multilayer head gasket, stronger ARP spec block bolts and the revised stiffer freelander oil ladder. also fitted at the time was a new alloy cored rad, new thermostat and cambelt water pump and tensioner. everything seems to be great, I've been checking fluids every week and its doesn;t use water or oil. certainly feels like 145bhp and can just detect the vvc around 4000rpm. the torsen diff is great for roundabouts ;D
just had fitted a new mg-rover oxygen sensor and new NGK plugs and Lucas HT leads that I got off ebay (all mgf parts but basically the same).
Also, sourced the correct MTF94 gearbox oil that is needed for the Torsen diff. Got 3L from the local Land rover dealer at £9 a litre. The garage managed to get 2.75L into the box. Rover specified 2.5L but specialist advice suggests "geat as much in as possible". Gearchange is much slicker now. Can't believe that manufacturers say that gearbocs are sealed for life. Gear oil should be done at least at 60k miles.
I've been doing a 52 miles round trip to work everyday and the BRM runs great. Fuel economy on brim to brim testing is 39mpg which is bang on the official combined fuel econ figures from rover.
Next jobs are to fit some new rear BRM spec shocks combined with some new Boge lowering springs . Got the springs NOS and are for the MGZR160. From asking around, they "should" give roughly a 10mm drop over standard BRM springs and are stiffer.
Overall very happy.

I love these, hardly ever see any. There's one near me that has some horrid Halfords spec wheels and a 'DTM' upswept double pipe ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) Definitely looks better with the orange nosecone, and those interiors are properly special. Love it ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Looking much better with the orange cronk!! love the wheels so much I got a sent and stuck them on my Rover 400 abd I think they look mint (they're not mint, they're actually quite crusty). As you can see from the picture, it needs lowering a touch, there's way too much rake towards the rear.......... ![](http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii9/170firebird/Photo0170.jpg)
