gonna fit some rear speakers to the van this weekend BUT they came without the templates for the holes,
has anyone got some scanned that i can ave?

Go to MS word, find the bit to draw a 'circle'. And then specify the size as 6 inches by 9 inches. Stick to a cereal packet and you're away.. Actually, I think I just spraymounted the paper to whatever I was cutting the hole in before and went from there  |

6*9's are awful for anything though, i guess in a works van they'll be fine, but in anything else, no!

Is the hole actually 6"x9" though? Might be worth a measure up first! Check any template on your speakers first for accuracy/correct size before you go cutting holes in your panels....  |

6*9's are awful for anything though, I guess in a works van they'll be fine, but in anything else, no! Certainly not awful, they are just a compromise. In an ideal world we'd all McLaren F1s and have a set of components for perfect stereo imaging, rather than one speaker to cover all (most) frequencies A reasonable quality pair of 6x9s is perfectly adequate in most cars unless you have a particularly fussy ear. That said, I tend to own like noisy cars so it's not really a problem anyway ;D |

This is a good point.. The instructions in the last set that I bought actually suggested the method I described above so I never thought to check |

I'm not a fan of 6x9's myself but we should appreciate that some people on here have them and are happy with them, dismissing them all as awful is a bit disrespectful. |

No i'm happy to dismiss them as awful, brash sounding pieces of tat! Great for a bit of rear fill maybe, but nothing more! I've owned cheap ones, i've owned expensive ones, they're just not great, loud yes, tuneful, nope!
I don't mean to put anyones choice of speakers down either, i just don't like em...

if there new 1's cant u just remove the mesh from the covers than trace the inside edge?
