I'm thinking this is cheap enough that you could chop the roof right off it, fit aero screens or a really low full width one and panel over the back seats with some humps running up the back to match the seats height for that almost batmobile look. I'd like to build it a bit like a 60's show car. WIP, just gotta find pics of screens now

and I have a 305 chevy v8 uncle norm?? - there is a 307 chev though - with super low bhp iirc? - kev Oh, I didn't say there wasn't a 305 Chev. Sure, we had Monzas and Smegas and all sorts of curse word with Chev 305s. But it's the Olds 305 that sucked raw egg batter. (In fact, I'm selling a new set of 305 Monza/Vega pistons rings....)

we're British, we're used to leaky engines, it stops the floor going rusty. Worser leaking than floor drips. The internal kind that makes milkshake splurge.

just found a full size pic of a 65 ambasador... I realy realy like it... and it looks bigger than I expected too, was thinkin it would be more of a small/mid size thing Big doesnt even start to describe them. I have a real soft spot for Ramblers. I had a 63 american 2dr sedan around 10 years ago not dissimilar to this Much smaller car. About the size of a similar year ford falcon. But if you really want the best looking rambler You have to have the 64 Rambler classic That awesome 1964 roof line with ramblers quirky styling. mid size car for the time. Inbetween the americans and the ambassadors. It has been my long held belief that 1964 was the best year for american cars and it all boils down to the roofline that they all used that year.

I don't want to get all pedant, but I'm sure that Olds "305" is a 307. It is referred to as such in The Standard Catalog of Oldsmobile Cars, my Oldsmobile parts interchange book, on the Olds Power and Real Olds Power websites and also in a recent issue of Popular Hot Rodding (some crazy built a dyno-queen 307 to 435 BHP) for starters.
I'm aware their are both 305 and 307 Chevys but never heard of a 305 Olds.
I'd heard of issues with the windowed mains on them (shared with the 260 and 403) but if you don't rev 'em or shock load them thats not going to be too much of an issue. 403 racers girdle theirs. Shouldn't be necessary in a daily.
You'd want at least a 350 in a G Body to make it drivable though anyway.

You go right on being pendant, AK! The 80's 305 Olds was actually Chebby-sourced. The 307 Olds was the excretory lump under the hood of my 86 Bu Estate. Stinking POS motor. Stay away from them.

I know a chap bought one of those for under a grand a couple of years back. Not the best example but it was MOT'd and all together. It was the Canadian version with a straight 6. I had seen it up for £1200 but didn't buy it. I should have.
