I'm having hankerings towrds mid 80s 4dr Mazda 323s ant the moment: ^ This shape, but I think the UK got a neater front-end ^ But my searching led me to here: www.059-in-side.com...and subsequently some cool, slammed late-model J cars!: Some bizarre scripting on the COOL JOIUS MEETING gallery page means no-links, but check out the TownAce on 4 spoke Fuch-alikes!

Hmmm, kind of reinforces a few ideas I've been having about a certain Stanza. Rmad, here's a potted pictorial history of the 323 Mk3 (for want of knowing official code for it)..... Early type front end, pretty much same as the saloon you found. Turbo 4x4 has a different grille and full-depth plastic bumper/spoiler, but not really what you're after? Early saloon, nice side view for appropriate Photoshoppage. Facelift front end from about 1987, which saloon also has. Again, different grille and bumper arrangements for 4x4, Javelin and sporty models but not really of relevance to you? Again, Mazda brochure helpfully provides you with a nice side profile of later version. It seems saloon was only ever available here as a 1.5GLX, auto optional. Good spec including rear wiper and electric sunroof, with powered windows and mirrors, PAS and central locking on later models. 1500 engine churns out 74bhp, and I suspect would give very good economy and rev nicely in the manner of most 80's J-tin.

I'm drawn to the saloons, there's a (non-metallic) blue one and a red one I see regularly, and they get me thinking every time! More late-models here: www.usdmjam.com

rmad in da house: but check out the TownAce on 4 spoke Fuch-alikes!
Those were real funky, I'd love a set to stick on the Shop Hack Slammer Skoda, thinking of a set of 4 bolt BRM's but that's another story....
Funny how Fuch's look real good on about everything 80's and before, from 50's Bugs to newer J stuff....

[Funny how Fuch's look real good on about everything 80's and before, from 50's Bugs to newer J stuff.... I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. the same could be said of minilights, lotus steels and ats classic, but you rarely see fuchs rims on anything that isn't beetle/porsche. they're still the daddy what ever they are on ;D

Good grief!!!! I can't believe it (he said in a Meldrew type way). I've got a 3-door 323 that I've bought to smoke through the winter. See below: I picked it up on Ebay before Crimbo for £70 with MOT thru til June and tax til the end of Jan. Its been great apart from it broke down in Daventry today... Still don't know why... seemed to flood and then wouldn't clear itself. Ah well, all sorted now but it was a bloody cold hour... They are top cars though - I've owned several of them in the past. ;D

Just cos something is good for you doesn't mean its good for everyone - for example Marmite does not make good Dog Food.

Very possibly depends on how much and what condition its in. I have that rally car in the watch list I was waiting to see what it made. The spec is good and I don't like interiors anyway ;D

Probably under the £1k mark.... I know it's a bit scabby round the edges (rear wheelarches), but other than that very original (eg. unthrashed).
