MASSIVE HUGE FAILWhy, I hear your anguished cry? Not because of the car itself, the Lotus 7 package has endured because it's a perfect sports car in so many ways. No, I rate all modern 7 derivatives (with the possible exception of Caterham because they alone have an unbroken line to the original) as FAIL because of the stagnation and lack of imagination, innovation or sparkle they represent that is the hallmark of so much kit car action these days. "I know, let's bring a kit car to market. Our unique selling point will be that it's yet another clone of something rather good from 50 years ago. Because there have been no advances in automotive design since then, and our customers are all individuals!" They're good, but oh so same-y. Please, can't the world move on?

Can't do fails I'm afraid! While 95% are fail in my eyes, I want to keep my post on the positive side of glass cars ;D Here is some WIN. Nova's don't have to be chav ...although a little stick would go a long way with this beauty! What's not to love One of my current faves.....(as some of you know ) ....even in 4 wheel, small wheeled guise But best of all (for me) is some Sandra luvvin......

not sure the MiniSprint Ogle or Broadspeed Minis count as kit cars as they were coachbuilt conversions. That Rochdale rocks so hard it hurts. And this is a WIN from me

I vote that as a fail too, but only because its a robin hood, the only seven i know of that's completely lost its seven-ness. The reason they're so popular is the reason the lotus seven took off in the first place, it's just such a simple yet effective design! Of course I'm going to be biased, i love the seven shape and have always wanted a seven, so I'm building myself one. And the majority of seven style car manufacturers have come about because of the numerous race series in which they can be used. I think you've got completely the wrong end of the stick if you think they think they're making something unique.... supply and demand!

I remember seeing one of these and wondering what it was... Then I entered the license plate number into the Dutch registration system and found the obvious answer; ah, it's a VW 1303 :-( FAIL It's called an FT Bonito by the way and its by far not the worst, it actually looks quite reasonable IMHO.

WIN Jag type D replica FAIL IMO the reason kitcars are sometimes a fail (apart from the styling cues) is the donor car thing......... sierra clocks in a lotus seven replica? or the wobbly nature of their body panels........ totally GRP model A sedan?
