as the swmbo is due to give birth in march, we've decided to sell her smart. she'll use our people carrier and i'll purchase something else for daily commuting duties (hunting for a good rover 200 BRM).
its been good fun but time for something new.
this smart was registered in smart oxford september 2004. I acquired the car at 8 months old. i'm the 2nd registered owner my wife is the third. its a 700cc 3 cylinder twin spark turbo engine developing 80bhp (can be mapped to 100bhp).
its got a service history and receipts for all work done, parts bought etc. its always had an oil change every may and december with a filter change at december. I bought a spin on oil filter adaptor so uses a bigger spin on style filter. its had all new door and roof seals fitted at the dealer as well as new wing mirror housings. its had the dealer water proofing work done including a new SAM unit, new battery and a new ECU under warranty. all been fine since. was fully serviced last winter and had plugs (6) and new plug leads fitted at the garage. i've just fitted a new driver front wheel bearing, i've got a new set of pads to go on and ARB drop links. its also geting a new set of rear tyres.
its booked in for its Mot in a couple of weeks and will be sold with a full ticket. the garage will be doing an oil/filter change, belt check and brake flush too.
NB. I bought the car from insurance salvage. I have all the pictures of the minor panel damage and the work I did. was panel damage so was like a big mecano kit to repair - very easy bolt on panels. I have receipts for the parts bought from the official Mercedes PDC and the paint work done at a reputable body shop (the centre rear panel and the new bonnet).
thanks matt
