Hi guys and girls!
I just made a really cheesy video explaining the mega-cheap head tracking system I made for my PC
Including the webcam it cost me £10! : )
Just thought I better share with the real-life car community biggrin.gif
Does anyone else play simulator style racing games? I play Live For Speed and Richard Burns Rally.

Wow... it's almost like actually driving a car!  Seriously though, I'm impressed. I wish I had the know-how to knock up this kind of thing for peanuts! |

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing  My steering wheel broke a couple years ago..just before I picked up live for speed, and sims are curse word on keyboard, so not really had a proper play. Would like to pick up a new wheel/pedals really. |

That's so cool! darn- that makes me want to fix some cameras around my car and fill the interior with computer screens so I can drive in VR.....but for real  Nice work, great demo and just goes to show what DIY tech can acheive. Might want to get a moderator to move this to readers other mods though?? |

Cheers guys! I used an open source LED tracking system called Freetrack - it's by no means an original creation, but I learned a hell of a lot building it, as I'd never even hooked up an LED before I started this project H |

what sort of games support head tracking? flight sims and a few racing games i expect? looks cool, i already run 2 screens and i do have a spare one.

It's mostly racing and flight sim games that support head tracking yeah, but there are a couple of first-person-shooters as well : )
SoftTH, The software I use for the 3 monitors also unofficially supports 2-monitor setups, but it's hard to find info on how to get it working : ) If anyone needs any info to get it working themselves, just PM me : )

Something abuot this was bugging me and i realised what it was. surely for this to work at its best, the monitor(s) should move with your head? in other words, if you had a 7 inch screen suspended infront of your eyes , so that when you moved your head, the picture would move on the screen, even if you turned round and looked behind you , whereas with the screens still, the picture would not move in the way it does, or am I missing something?

That is smart i play live for speed gt legends gtr evolution /race 07 plus there are some good free ones bmw m3 chalenge and volvo the game and truck racing by renault the can be downloaded from manafacturers websites .I need gtr2 so i can install power and glory mod then i can race with some classic cars i want the triumph tr4 thats in this mod .
