Additional Information:
For sale is my 1994 BMW 525i SE, a 5 speed manual with cream leather. It has had a recent MOT that it went straight through (as it has done the past few times) and is taxed until March. This is an ideal car for those looking for an extremely reliable daily driver that is smart, powerful, reliable, competent and isn't going to depreciate.
The current mileage is 147,360 miles but for one of these that is barely run in - and the car runs and drives exceptionally well (due to the practically full BMW service history), with light controls, no clunks, knocks or rattles. It uses no oil or water, starts first time every time and pulls very well, accelerating to 60 in 8.2 seconds. It has none of the usual E34 issues such as wandering under braking, worn suspension or tired wiper racks.
This 525i has the later 2.5 litre 24 valve straight six M50 engine, with a timing chain instead of a belt - consequently it is very easy and cheap to service, requiring only plugs, filters and coolant on a routine basis. It also benefits from variable valve timing (on the intake camshaft), so makes 189BHP and 180ft.lb of torque, whilst returning excellent economy and driveability. There were only two advisories on the MOT - both for the front tires being slightly worn on the outer edges (nothing ominous, just getting used up).
Externally the car is in excellent condition with no rust or accident damage. There are a few minor marks, as you'd expect for the age, but it is extremely presentable and very smart, with a nice deep shine to the paint. Again, underneath, the car is in great condition and has never had any problems with regards to corrosion come MOT time. All four alloy wheels are excellent and the tires are in good order, with the rears having plenty of tread and the fronts about 2000 miles left.
Inside is again, in very good order. The car has a bright, comfortable and warm white leather interior with matching light grey trim which makes a nice change from the usual dark and gloomy blacks. It has wood trim, a sports steering wheel, twin vanity mirrors, map lights, dual zone heating, driver and passenger armrests and a full BMW medikit. There is some wear to the driver's seat leather, as you'd expect from age - but nothing torn or ripped. An excellent Sony USB/CD/Radio/Aux stereo is fitted.
The car has the factory-fitted Sigma Alarm/Immobiliser, which includes remote central locking with total closure - press the button, the car locks and any open windows (or the electric sunroof) will close automatically. The windows and sunroof also have a one-touch closure feature. Everything electrical works as you'd expect, with nice smooth actions. The BMW also has front and rear foglights, driver's airbag, ABS, power steering, a check control computer, electric mirrors, front cargo net, driver's stowage compartment and rear luggage straps.
Mechanically the car is brilliant and practically as new. The fuel injected 24 valve straight six starts on the key every time (the car has an excellent battery), doesn't overheat, uses no coolant or oil, and pulls hard through the gears. I generally return around 26-30 to the gallon doing mixed driving, although higher figures can be returned on longer runs.
The clutch is light and positive, with excellent bite (and no judder or slips), the gearbox is precise and sharp with no odd noises and the suspension and steering function as you'd expect with no clunks or rattles. The car rides very well and is extremely comfortable to drive. The brakes stop the car very well, with the ABS working correctly, and this car does not suffer the usual 5 series wander under braking.
This 525i also has mainly full stamped BMW service history up to the current date, barring a few minor services carried out at local garages when required. All documentation is present, including the V5, some previous MOTs and invoices, the original owner's handbook and manuals and more. There are two keys and alarm fobs. The original toolkit and warning triangle are present. I also have documentation showing that all the warranty issues have been resolved and attended to at BMW dealerships. The car also still has its original dealer plates, stickers and busines cards.
This E34 has been exceptionally well looked after and is quite a rare find in this kind of condition - and M439 TUK will no doubt reward its new owners with many tens of thousands of trouble free miles. 5 series like this are easy to take care of, inexepensive to service (and parts available online cheap), and are claimed to be one of the most reliable, and best built, BMWs ever. Additionally, if its condition stays the same then it will not depreciate in value.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Viewings are welcome, as are sensible offers.
I'll be getting some pictures of it cleaned up as soon as I can, but for now here are some to give you an idea - it's much cleaner than in these pics to give you some idea of condition, and this is prior to the leather being cleaned and fed!
