Well this is the reason for all car projects being on hold, however if all goes to plan it will mean i can build what i have always wanted to when this is finished. Car buying has ruined my deposit over the years ;D, so as with my cars i had to have my first house as a project. This is where i am now from the end of september. , nice kitchen , retro pantry , keeping me dad ocupied , you thought car bodges were bad? plaster over wallpaper, over old chimney breast area. , just a few rotten joists out. , problems with your chimney tops eh? ;D , Bit's of kitchen work surface make great bridges ;D , ready to reinstate partition wall removed in 1970 , so happy to find a big steel rsj in here. , nice bathroom. .

Looks like a hefty project you've got there, best of luck with it! Once my garage is built, I'll be starting with the interior of mine... Then by 2020 I might be able to start on some projects that I want to as well lol

One tip I can pass on myself is don't try to fix anything that can be ripped out and replaced. It is the biggest waste of time and in the long run money.
I spent forever stripping/sanding wood and artex/paper/plaster and trying to make it good.
If i did a house again I'd go in with my wrecking bar and smash everything. lol.

Will get some garage pics at the weekend Its wide enough with extra work rooms and plenty of length. Tin built at the moment but when funds allow once moved in going brick built, i honestly have'nt told the plumber to leave a t off for a radiator in there and fit hot and cold taps. Washed me hands in cold water in garages too many times

It's a 1937 built house so has cavity floors, lower floor is susspended about 3 feet above ground level, with air briks to let it breath, 2 beams were soaking and scrap when i got it Hole in the saeling is from the chimney pots being scrap and blocked off at lower ceiling level with old coal sacks, there was a 1 ft thick crust of soot on top, that was interesting when i poked it with a bar More pics to come next week as wiring and hopefully window blocking commence

Took me just seconds to turn them sideway's though ;D
Cheers for all the encouragement and kind words it really does make a difference.
Well the plastered room in the pic's is the bathroom and i have been chasing out more walls downstairs and laying cables this weekend.
Hopefully have everything back in plaster by end of jan, full wired other than the kitchen and the bathroom in.
Paying for plastering as if it don't look right if i do it i will only have to pay the same but twice on materials, it's a job for a skilled person on this big a job. ;D

yep, plasterers can really turn the look of a room around, worth paying for.
i've just spent a week fitting a new kitchen, would've be easy if i didnt have to rewire the entire thing, move all the plumbing and have walls as straight as alan carr.
