Right I'm usually good with raleighs... but this one has me stumped... its one i have seen before in pics but cant place it... the top tube removes and wasnt fitted when i bought it an hour ago... the front tyre pumped up but the rear is so foobared its gone solid and the tube cant push the tyre out!! its got a rod front brake , and STURMEY ARCHER pedal back rear. (coaster) the rear hub is dated 65 9 (sept 65) anyone got any ideas? as yet its not for sale... its most likely going to find a cozy home in the loft with my mk2 chopper, 2 mini burners, bomber, and first bmx.. (all of which slowly being restored and i do use them )

yep - dart
frame (chainguard, cranks) was the base for the early mk1 chipper - decals were very similar to early rsw 16 decals - kind of white waterslides
nice find! - kev

the first chopper bike I built. Well cut bike frames up and then got welded. Had a bb and curved tubing like that bike. The headstock. downtube and some of top tube was Raleigh Winner, The rear end was Raleigh Strika. And the forks were Burner. With a gold Araya BMX wheel, and a 16" Raleigh mag on the back. Had MTB cranks with short brackets to hold a rear hub under the top tube. Turned out to have 9 gears. Put gear levers on the top tube. But had to reach under my leg to change gear. So put thumbshifters on the Pull back motorbike bars. Also put white mags on it. Was about 20 years ago. Dad had a lot of old frames in the loft. And I got some bike stuff from the tip. I do have a huge, but not very clear pic on Photobucket. BB was welded on squint though. So it sometimes thru off the chain.

Ive resized the pictures. There scans from photos, as that bike was built around 1992. Thats not long afte its built. I changed stuff every day. I held the frame up and painted it red and blue. Was going to do one colour but run out of paint half way. I built a seat out of plywood and padded it with foam and a blue cover. Had white mags on it that had canted 5 spokes. Looking at the photos, its got Raliegh Wildcat forks on it, there longer than normal BMX ones. Was mostly used around the village. but had it to town a couple of times. About a 20 mile journey
