The program wouldnt be to bad if it wasnt for that monumental tosser Mike Brewer! How does a spaz like that make it onto TV and even more confusingly stay there?

well other than that classic gear on ITV14, which is unwatchable. The Used Car Roadshow. TEN times the show! At least your man actually speaks some truth, and isn't totally dim.

See, I was watching the Disco one the other day... I had waited for at least three weeks for it ..gagging ... then they bought an overpriced M reg which was the worst of all Disco's (an 'in-betweener') and set about modding into overlander - complete cobblers ... but I still quite like the programme.. but it got me thinking ... what if someone on here pitched a real everyday car show to a TV company ... imagine me buying and Scary fixing ... or Mystery Machine modding it... Now that would be a show! ;-) Go down well in the Ukraine too...

I do quite enjoy the show, Mike is annoying as ever but he has been since the first episode so I just tend to ignore him. Edd China I quite like, thought I suspect as said he doesn't do all the work soley himself. The acting is corny and bad but I watch it for the cars. I saw the one where they did the Fiat 500 and I thought they done well with that. And, and the end of the day, there keeping a few old motors going

I find it very hard to watch without wanting to put my foot through the TV. its just yet another car program that's aimed at people who know nothing about cars or are to stupid to spot the bull . in very much the same way as shows like the one with bernie and lepu in they are not very good shows to watch if you are actually interested in cars like most of the members here there are far better quality shows to watch . the only worrying bit is some morons will watch these low quality shows and then think they are experts Totally agree with that - there's very little in terms of car programmes for people that are actually into cars. Best Motoring from Japan is quite good though, but it's not shown on TV afaik.

you'll whine if there's nowt on TV about cars, and then you moan and curse word about the stuff thats on.
deal with it, treat it as 60 mins entertainment for plebs like me who havent a clue about cars.
FFS, i cant even change brake pads, but even i can pick holes in it, but at the end of the day something with cars in is better than nowt in my eyes

haha just checked it out on the youtubes.
A lot of waffle and fill. Why do programs feel the need to recap every 3 minutes? And yeah generally pretty dull and uninformative.
Didnt expect owt else really.

Cheer up you lot. It's not brilliant, but I'd rather watch it than top gear.
They have to aim at the general population. The general population are MORONS.
It's worth watching for the laugh as much as anything!

Here to be honest, its not a bad show and you have to remember they're making this for television so it has to be muck to fit in. I watch it cos it means i don't have to sit through herself watching 'her shows'. Remember they took this: and turned it into this: oh wait.............................. And in its defence its like doing an engineering degree when compared to those other two planks burnme and leapthru i just got sick a little

I don't get the "don't moan at least its on the tele and about cars" mentality.
Its like someone giving me chips covered in poo, and saying "well at least you have chips!"
Id rather have nowt! ;D

Like many others, I attended the Classic car show at the NEC. Great show and lots to see. One of the highlights for me (perhaps I'm sad) was meeting and talking to Ed China from wheeler Dealers. I know the show gets slated a lot for some reason, but I cant see why. Its light entertainment, not advertised as anything more. Anyway, Ed was a top bloke. He knows his VW's and was happy to talk for about ten minutes without any cockiness or atitude. Even let it slip that they are going to be doing a few episodes of the show for the States and will be looking to do a Karmann Ghia. Oh and I was amazed at how tall he really is. He comes across as being tall on the show, but this is him next to me (and I'm 6'2)- Genuine respect for the bloke (not gay or owt). Even spoke with BREWER and he comes across as a decent bloke too. Hes getting paid to make and host a programme so of course he's not going to be natural in front of the camera. But then what programmes on TV these days arent hosted by absolute tits (excluding the ...... is born series).

Unfortunately the readership of this forum is in no way representative of the viewing public. As such we can pick holes and slag off car programs whether it be this or Top Gear or whatever. The producers of these shows are interested in one thing, and that's ratings. If nobody watches then no more series of the program will be commissioned, and that's that. You can see it as the dumbing down of TV or whatever, but the fact is the cars we enjoy leave the majority of the popualtion absolutely cold.
As for wheeler dealers, it's a program that tries to be all things to all men. It's partially techy mechanical stuff, partially trying to be lighthearted entertainment. It varies dramatically by episode which aspect they do well, but it passes a rainy hour on a Sunday, and beats I'm a z list celebrity please ressurect my ailing career.
The bottom line is, as with any program if you don't like it don't watch it!

WAKNERS You can't follow posts from people that have met the guys and said they're decent blokes by just calling them 'wakners' . . . Why? That's a personal attack. No need at all.

After watching another (older) episode in the week, I think I've revised my opinion a bit TBH. As much as they come across as being complete planks, it's fairly obviously that's just what the programme makers have asked for. I'm sure they wouldn't have asked them to do it if they really knew as little as they seem. Opinion retracted
