It is just his chrome bits/spots/plate. I still feel a complete and utter muppet like. Her ugly spacewagon just has a small dint in its rear bumper.

harsh, at least theres no tin work busted
Dosent take long to realise that you have to think that everyone else on the road is an ideot driver (even if they are not). Just try and keep away from all of them!

cant get his bonnet to open cos the grills gone up n kinda hooked it down, sadly my dad has come home to umm and arr at it and he'll probably diagnose it to be ten times worse than it and have a huge go at me.

sorry to hear that, i did the same nearly, just glanced away for a second and rolled into the guy in front- wrote mine off. Easily done, if your dad gets roudy just remind him that its going to cost you not him, and he should be glad its not his car!

bummer emz. it'll fix. remember, if your dad has a go just start to cry (you'll get away with this being a girl and all) chances are he'll get his wallet out.if he doesnt hes a harsh man. when my eldest daughter was 14 months she spotted a cuddly toy she liked and her mother (a complete ba$tard btw) wouldnt buy it.so we had loads of tears, i buckled and bought it.one little girl happy and her dad wrapped round her finger. worked for her, might work for you.

That's a shame, still, it's easily fixed, it's just the bumper and grille that need changed. It is annoying when your motor gets damaged though, I know what you mean.

See exactly the same on a lot of different forums from time to time. So easy to do.
If its any consolation, ive scratched my car on a wall today idiotically mis-judging width and cropping a low ledge. Two huge b******d scratches down my door and rear wing. Good job its the ratter and not the mk1.

After muchos convincing we've just had a poke around and managed to get the bonnet up. I'm gunna have to take it down the bodyspecialist people tomorrow and get it looked at, as sadly its not quite as simple as un-do the bolts n slap a new one on.
The (scuse my lack of technical wording) cross-section thing that the bonnet clips into has been bashed and isn't lined up properly anymore so the bonnet wont close and click-down into it, so that needs sorting. Other than that and a small ding on the side of the bonnet (the bit that sits in the groove between bonnet n wing) it's all fixable by moi. *sigh*
So poor pedros going to be rather embarrassed driving through town in the morning but atleast we're going to get some kind of quote for him.
We ain't going through insurance as the Ugila drivers are happy for us to pay for their safetywagon to be repaired (a teeny scratch on their mahoosive bumper).

Its best not to go through the insurers when your a new driver, it makes the insurance go up for at least the next three to five years.
I must say pedros is a super cool name for a mini, needs a moustache tho

I scraped both doors on the passenger doors a few months after I got my first car (that I'm still on ), caught the edge of someone's bumper on a dent that was already in it during a tight parking maneuver in the work car park aka bit of waste land, my insurance is £2K 3rd party fire and theft so I didn't even consider the insurers to be honest. Left a note on the parked car, paid the owner a small amount for the fix (didn't get them so bad) and got mine done a couple of weeks later. Was glad to have an excuse to get that dent fixed. For that kind of damage I'd have a go putting it right out of your own pockets, the insurers will really sting you for it in years to come. I bet someone off here could get hold of a new grille for you no bother!
