Ciao Retroisti.... I know this is a car Forum but there have been some topics lately on bike motors in cars (Fiat 500 & Smart) and even a bike stuffed in a car (bad bad joke) so why not post a proper bike tread.... Me myself a biker for some 33 years now I have been driving a bunch of crazy and not so crazy bikes during those years starting with a 68 883 Sportster at the age of 16 going through a bunch of Harleys including a custom built Electra (that Mickey Rourke now owns) and my absolute fave Harely a 69 Rob North framed XR750 Dirt Tracker. There have been som Britt stuff to like a couple of 60's Bonneville and a Vincent Black Lightning. The J stuff has been quite ordinary like a Suzuki RGV 500 Gamma, Kawasaki Z1300, Kawasaki 600 & 900 Ninjas, Suzuki Katana and a bunch of Honda & Yamaha dirt bikes but my heart has always been in Italy so there has been a bunch of Ducati like an early 916, early M900 Monster and a buch of ss750, ss900, a Bimota and a couple of Aprilias but the bike I dream of owning is still out there, the 1998 Aprilia RSV Mille SP, the most beautifull bike IMO...... My GF is also a bikefan and rides a 250cc KTM MX, a Mad Ass 125cc for the city and a Philippe Starck designed Aprilia Moto 6.5, nice to share other things than body fluids..... This is the dream bike.... .....one day I'll also have one hanging on my wall.... What do you guys feel about bikes? Like, don't like and if you like what do you like?

not a biker as I'm not keen on the whole "falling off" part of bike ownership, but i can certainly appreciate bikes, from the modern sports bike sector i think only ducati's and honda vtr/vfr's do it for me, not so much a fan of the rest of them, i do like the streetfighter look aswell, love seeing sportsbikes be subjected to the whole streetfighter thing, makes me like them more, definately love old bikes though cant say i actually know much about them but the old ones always look so badass. oh and anythin sprayed matteblack so i can live out mad max fantasies.

I keep a 1981 Yamaha XJ550 going (over 90,000 on the clock, still on original clutch and never had any Engine or Gearbox work ever !). Not a minter but a daily mover Eventually when more space prevails I will be aquiring one of these: WW2 WD BSA M20 Military Motorcycle. My farther used to have and use a 1940's ex army one in the 1970'S as everyday transport. I remember many a journey shaking along on the pillion seat as a wee little urchin ;D.

twincamgti in da house_ ...Vincent BLACK LIGHTNING...?Yepp just like the one Rollie Free used to set land speed record on in 1948.... There's only 1 here in Sweden and that's the one I brought here from The States, the man who bought it had 3 Black Shadow and had waited for a Black Lightning for 15 years......

i've got a KL250: but i want a 1200 bandit: Let me know when its for sale , I would love a retro dirt bike like that or a newish enduro or hybrid thing to potter around on. Passed my test few years back now but not been able to afford one aswell as cars...yet I agree with rearwheelnick, i recently injured myself at approx 20mph on my 'push bike' and only a matter of time till my downhill missions on my BSX bike go wrong, really need that full face helmet! Similarly my old dad really battered his pelvis into a squillion pieces a few months back, he's still in a bad way and that was just going to shops; albeit on a CBR900! and that has really knocked me. If i get a bike i'd be a real 'easy rider' after all this. always used to fancy a suzuki Katana after seeing an aussie film with a bird in.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

hadda suzuki rg125 Un wolf hypersport loved that thing and hated the thing. kept breaking down but it was humongous fun! i loved every second that bike flew up roads and hated every second it was at the side of the road having throwen the chain for the 73rd time... then a short stint with a suzy gp100n and sold a t aprofit after dropping her lol and i have a "cz 125 sport cafe racer" lol resprayed red, kawasaki ar50 fairing, only thing stopping her flying about is faulty electronic ignition. once i have £50 spare for another kit then woohoo! and once ive got my whiplash claim I'm off to find an rgv250 '93 in blue and white. not that i wnat to be specific or anything. oh must get the test too like its easier over here btw, don't have to do the cbt haha

Some lovely bikes on this page, that hornets nice.

This was mine before I came off.. now it's in the garage (has been for a few years) waiting to be fixed It's given many bigger bikes a bit of a fright. My first time on the local track I kept passing a Triumph 955i around the back section, he would then get me on the straights (just, one or two more laps and I'd have left him behind ;D ) you should have seen the look on his face when he came to see my bike in the pits afterwards. Love bikes, prefer Honda's but would really love an MV Agusta.
