I saw one in Bristol the other day - kinda looked like a mini-moke but more angular with a wooden rear frame, lots of glass and wedgey front styling.
Not a great description.....I'llsee if I can find a photo of something similar.

![](http://cache.jalopnik.com/assets/resources/2008/04/Tryane-II.jpg) I remember this from a mag feature (PPC?) a while ago. It's based one 2cv mechanicals and is incredibly efficient because of its aerodynamics

I used to constantly LOL re-reading an old street machine mag with a pic of a wooden beetle and the caption "It floats too, but then so do turds" This is about as close as i'll ever get to liking a car made from trees - yes I know its plastic lol. ![](http://www.jims59.com/miscphotos/images/Rochester%2007%20Ford%20surf%20woodie%20wagon.jpg) Matt

Didn't some Morgans have wooden chassis? Or did I just make that up? The framework that the body is hung off is wooden, they have steel chassis. Still do, apart from the Morgan Aero 8.

Apologies in advance! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I once met a guy who built a wooden car. It had a wooden chasis, wooden panels, wooden seats, and a wooden engine. Only problem was that it wooden run! Boom boom! ;D

In Charley Boorman's programme on BBC he drives a Bamboo car in one of the episodes, which runs on coco biodiesel. They're bamboo taxis used in the Filipino town of Tabontabon. The bodywork is made entirely from bamboo -- a grass which, in addition to being strong and lightweight, grows back after it's harvested: ![](http://wowphilippines.co.uk//data/upload/emailblock/450.jpg) ![](http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autobloggreen.com/media/2009/07/img-5219-580.jpg) Almost everything in it was made of bamboo!

The Hustler 6-wheeler is certainly different and all credit to its' owner for year-round use. It'd be good if you want all-round visibility, but not if you want style.
IMHO ... it's not for me!

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

Funny you should say that - ever since finding the pic I've been wondering how difficult it would be to make a new one? Box section chassis, easy panelwork (all flat GRP!) easy glass (all flat) Drop in a V-tec and run on some uber alloys. You could even design it from the outset to run hard slammed. ;D Here's another pic I found which is nearer how I'd want mine to look (although still needs dropping) ![](http://www.aronline.co.uk/images/townshustler_05.jpg) Could make for an awesome build ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
