This is wierd. I was watching TG and enjoyed the 10,000 quid Supercar challenge - ace stuff. It reminded me of being in the 308, a beautiful car. Great noises and just something else to be in. I was thinking though - what kind of cheap cars are there that are like this - I'm talking sub-2000 here....2 door, low slung, mechanically simple but lively and engaging... Only one I could (d'oh ;D) think of was a GT6....but I've never been in one although i have heard one - quite not what i expected What else is there like this? Anyone have any personal experiences with 6's?

we picked that one up off the 'Bay for £1700...a really caring owner, totally original, good chassis...crappy wheels and colour...might play around with it on photoshop soon...

Yea just really have a knawing hankering for something a bit 'sporting' but without ploughing 400 quid into a suspension setup on a Dolly.. and a '6 howl would be nice. Very nice

Personally, I'd take the GT6. They didn't call it the poor mans E type for nothing. They rock, and you can drop the 2.5 injection lump from the P25i straight in because it's basically the same engine. Based on the Herald chassis and easily modified. It's basically a Spitfire with a proper roof and the engine it deserved

I got offered one for 800 quid with triple webers, 12 months tax and test a while back. In dark blue. I suspect I may have been a plank for not taking it

I know of a mkI RX7 in a scrappy in Greenock, it's been there literally for years, unfortunately some bloody neds (the actual delinquent junkie type, I'm not having ago at the Max Power crowd again don't worry! ) got into the scrappy at some stage and broke a load of the cars' windows so the interior's probably gone beyond repair, along with the floorpans.
