yay! It was me that spotted it under a tarp on a rare outing from Scotchland. I'm glad it's in service and being used.
Did you get a spitfire shaped biscuit from the canteen? Very nice ;D

Endlessly grateful to you for spotting it! I'm really pleased to know that a) it's in regular use, b) it lives somewhere cool, c) it's making people happy and d) it's only just down the road!
...and it's making money for the upkeep of Brooklands too. This is a good thing.

It is an unusually happy ending for an old car, which is cool.

My dad chose the name 'Sarcus Special' because my folks used to have a house in a tiny village in France named Sarcus at the time he was building it. Nice to see the name's still with the car!

A guy I know has a pickup converted one of those Bullits.
Personally, I think the propertions are all wrong, and you need massively wide wheels to even come close to looking right in the arches.
I really should get down to Brooklands, as it's only a couple of miles from work.

The Bullit kit was from a (now non-existant) company called DMS, or Dorset Motor Services. Back in the early nineties, you'd take them a mkII Capri that was mechanically sound but frilly around the body, and they'd cut off the shell and bond on the Bullit kit. It's more of an homage to the Aston Martin Volante Vantage than a direct replica... it was different enough for DMS not to get sued! So, underneath it's all Capri - chassis, drivetrain, interior, the works. On top, it's kind of a mishmash of bits; the DMS fibreglass shell was adorned with Mini headlights, Vauxhall Chevette tail-lights, chrome strips on the front wings from a Volvo 340... all sorts. Our donor was a 3.0 Ghia, but I've seen some around running 2.0 Pintos. Of course, being a kit car, every one is different!

Thanks, bizz. I think you've done outstanding work here, sir. You rejuvenated it, got it MOT'd, sold it on, and it's landed at just the right stable for an easy retirement. Salute! (BTW, I liked your Ghia alloys better than the generic black steels. The white Ghias gave it a "Tickford"-esque aura.)

I do love it when a plan comes together. I like to think that all of my old projects have found happy homes - they probably haven't, but at least I can tick this one off the list! ;D

Ta for posting this up bud & congrats on an ex-ride now being part of an awesome collection 2 random things: A woman down my parents road works at Brooklands & is well into these. Might be the same woman.. Might not.. The woman who owns this is the head of the volunteers at Brooklands or somesuch. Her mum bought this brand new in 1938! It's absolutely mint. Sadly I went to the funeral of my Wife's Great-Uncle last week, only to find out (during his eulogy) that he did his apprenticeship at Brooklands, worked on the Napier-Railton (including building the brakes) then went on to work at the Connaught F1 team! How the hell did that never come up in conversation!? Gutted This thing is massive. HC.
