A friend of mine bought a Triumph Herald from a certain person on here (you know who you are, hope you are proud of what you have started! ;D) and while ironing out one or two routine issues is also getting into light mods, starting with wheels. Could anyone give any guidance as to what wheels can be purloined from other Triumphs? I'm thinking 5.5 x 15" minilites with tyres to match the OE rolling diameter and am seeing sets advertised for TR6 fitment, am I any near right or barking up the wrong tree entirely where fitment and offsets are concerned? thank you.

You should have 3 3/4" PCD on the Herald so you've got some options, look here; www.sportssix.info/wheels.phpfor a start and remember Maestro and Montego alloys will fit, as will Rover 100/Metro wheels (NOT A-series engined cars). Have fun!

I have never liked Minilites. Period I know, but personally I find them a cliche, and more than a bit ugly.
*The* period Herald wheel mod is a set of wheel trims on the standard steels - somewhere I have a big box of the various ones I've found on the Heralds I've owned.
How would Rostyles look on a 13/60?

How would Rostyles look on a 13/60? The Herald has its original steels and trim rings etc and the owner of the car (who I believe will be registering with the site so she can nose about herself but has never joined a forum before and is maybe a little nervous! has decided on minilites so her wishes are being respected hence the question being one concerning fitment not opinions on aesthetics. Her car, her way, after all. I was thinking 15's from a TR as it would be easier on the eye than 13's with 155 80's. Rostyles would be interesting though (IMO only ;D) thanks for the link Marinanut

As always it's their car, their taste.
Hmmm, how would a Herald look on Venoms?

Minilites in a 15" flavour, eh?
What he needs is a set of 15" MGF wheels, which are the correct stud pattern. And as luck would have it, I'll have mine of my TR7 for sale as soon as my Triumph/Porsche adaptors are ready and I can put my newly refurbed cookie cutters on...

TR6 (and all the 'big' Triumphs - 2000/2500/Stag) rims won't fit as they're a different PCD.
Marina, Maestro/Montego, MGF, Rover Metro and various historic race stuff share the PCD so, if you know where to look and you're willing to experiment (oo-er) then you should be able to manage something quite interesting.

I did try to sell the Cosmics as well... Glad your getting on well with it ;D If it were me (which it was, but if I was doing it again. You know what I mean..), I'd be tempted to get a set of Formula Ford Wellers powdercoated Old English White, but what the lady wants.. I don't know if you've thumbed through the catalogue I left with the car (it may be the reason she wants them actually), Rimmer Bros list the sort of thing you're after, and I reckon 13s would suit it better.

Theres something about 16 & 17 inch wheels... on ANY car, they just seem a strange size. 15" seems to be the top end of the 'smaller' choice, then its 18's or above for PIMP... anything between just has a funny 'proportion' to them. Or is that just me?

MrTs MGF wheels would certainly fit the required spec! Like these: Pretty sure you'll need to put longer studs in or something though. I seem to remember Pogs friend Brussel doing so when he fitted them to that Dolly. If it were me (which it was, but if I was doing it again. You know what I mean..), I'd be tempted to get a set of Formula Ford Wellers powdercoated Old English White, but what the lady wants.. Sorry, wrong colour ;D

Minilites always look good, a bit played out though. Cosmics do actually look really good on Heralds and Vitesses. My vote would go for Dolly Spring wheels though, have seen some on a purple Herald and they really suited it. They are plentiful, dirt cheap and above all, really really light so should improve the driving too.

how about Revo's ? Although these do look a bit small( even if it is my car!) These are 13's with 205/50 tyres.

Herald on 17s! Not quite there, but better than stock IMHO. ;D I reckon thats got a lot going for it...maybe slightly oversized but no a million miles off Just got your PM Ben and its in hand - parts are on order . I would have gone for the cosmics and dropped it on 165 55's but she wants std ride height with std rolling diameter and what is the point of nice wheels with balloon tyres? Keep the ideas coming folks, never been a Herald fan but some of these pics are certainly starting to change that!!!
