I have fitted those coilovers to my Mrs' Mk2 GTI, they are VERY stiff but she loves them as she can overtake everyone round the outside of roundabouts.
Can't drop it as low as yours as it has 7" RH Cups that rub the spring so we need spacers.

Mines dropped about as low as Chris' with 8" wide Schmidt Modernlines et25 front and et20 back. ;D

Mmmmm, tat! Just ended up in...sigh, Halfords. I know, I'm sorry. Still, it did yield some bargains! Dice valve caps FTW! As for the LED's, don't judge me! The dash lights are toss, so for a fiver I thought these would be a nice touch, they won't be visible until they're turned on! Oh, and in wheel news, lets just say I've PM'd JamesP. ;D Chris

why are the dash lights so bad?
They should be pretty good. Are they all working?
Is the rheostat working? If they don't get used they start to play up.

I'm sure it's nothing major, but either way I'm going to have to pull the dash out. These were so cheap that if they're curse word, it's no bother. Either way, I should be able to see my speed soon! I'd check the rheostat, too. I've never found mk2 dash lights to be curse word - even though I removed the colour filters and utterly coated the bulbs in Humbrol clear blue enamel they're still good enough!

Chris Rheostat is in the switch, may as well check that first as the dash doesnt have to come out. Try just adjusting it up and down multiple times. If its not working well then pop the switch out and use electrical cleaner or similar on the contacts.

Slammed Golf looks sweet! I had one of these slammed down as well, loved it! I would reconmend getting the wheels aligned set the front for maximum negative camber on standard settings, makes hell of a difference. I had my geometry tweaked by Elite in Rainham they done a cracking job.
