Well, 90% of you know about this but I still thought I should chuck up a thread in here seeing as it will be changing on a regular basis.
So, here it is, as it was when I bought it, my Golf Driver. Paid a measly £300 for it and quite frankly, it's tip-top. I'm so happy with it, it's bodily sound, mechanically perfect and great to drive. It makes a change to have a car which falls into to the category of 'money well spent'.
So, lets look at the progress so far:
Here she was when I bought her, so humble and unsuspecting. Oh, and tall, very tall indeed.
Clean though....
So, as soon as I got it forked out a reasonable £300 to insure it for the year, filled it to the brim with gogo juice and put some miles on it. In all I clocked up near 700 miles in a week without the trusty VeeDub missing a single beat. In my eyes that was it's test of reliability truly passed, so time to treat it to some goodies....
Area 52 was the venue, Playday II was the occasion, Retro-Rides were the mechanics and Budwiser was the lubricant....
Johnny helped too....
The rear lights have also been 'Johnnyed' too, red tits FTW!
After some tinkering and some spannering, BOOM, down you go!
And then the trim rings got painted, job done....for now.
So, that's where we're up to so far. At the moment it's residing on my Mums drive in Bristol, about to run out of tax. I'll sort that next week though, then I plan to make some effort and get it down to Kent with me.
Future plans? There are some!
Firstly, I have these...
..and some tyres sat at my Mums, so they'll go on it soon, and these (the bumpers, not the tyres)....
...which then leaves one other thing, this:
Got to have the pumping bass, yah? Also got all the speakers, sub and amp too, ready for my Prefab Sprouts: Greatest Hits CD.
So, that's it for now. More updates as and when I get round to fitting stuff!
