Inspired by Racer's post, I thought I'd share what my old Uni motorclub (MSA approved ) has been upto.
I left Uni last year where I was club secretary of the motorclub, I'm still a member of the club but I'm no longer on the committee.
Last Friday we ran a 12-car rally around Oxfordshire using Landranger map 164, it was a 63 mile event with 8 time controls. The first car started at 8pm
I did the route for the last 12-car we ran but as I'm only a regular member now and rthe rally is run on a first-come-first-served basis with priority is given to current students, I marshaled on TC7 this time.
Out of the 13 starters, 9 cars finished, the cars that didn`t finish were novices.
There were really any interesting cars running, mostly new Corsas, a Focus, a Seat Leon although a Mini did run with no dipped beam
The results were:
Polo at TC7...
We held a tabletop rally on Saturday afternoon in the Uni bar. For those that don`t know, a tabletop rally involves just plotting the route in a set time and not driving it.
Bright and early on Sunday morning, we held an autotest mid way between Oxford and Banbury. I didn`t enter this time as the Polo keeps stalling at low revs and my G/F was using her Seicento that day (very inconsiderate ;D)
Jon's road rally 205...
Monty's French registered Renner with yellow headlights and a Gumball 3000 sticker ;D
Craig's 235,000 mile Audi Coupe complete with front creaky struts ;D...
G40 with some serious dishage on the rear...
A pretty expensive weekend for some people but defo worth it.
We've got a trackdays at Silverstone and Goodwood next month as well
