I have bought the VERY expensive coil spring compressor that goes up inside the seperate spring for mercs. I don't have a picture of it but It has been used ONCE. I want £180 posted within UK for it. comes in a red box with two different sized plates and the telescopic winder part. I changed a front spring in less than 30 minutes using this tool. there isnt really any other way of changing the springs on a merc 'safely' without it.

Excellent bit of kit these. We bought ours from Klann tools, think it was about twice your asking price so sounds like a bargain. Word of warning to anyone who buys it -only use a hand ratchet on it. Our techy thought he`d be clever & try to save time by using an air impact gun. Needless to say, we had to invest in another one!

Its not a merc tool - I coudnt get the mortgage for one of those -
its the 'cheaper' version from my local motor factors
using a 1/2 drive and 19mm socket it took about 3 minutes of gentle winding to compress the spring enough to remove it from the cup.
I will upload a picture tuesday night so you can all see what it looks like.
