Welcome aboard Lee!
Darren - Lee is an old friend of mine...he and I (I hope you don't mind me taking some credit Lee) built his Euro-look Fiesta nearly 20 years ago, completely going against the boy-racer/XR2 replica fashions of the time (we were hot-rod/cal-look/lowrider fans - not boyracers!)...Lee's Fiesta was legendary and was the inspiration to a whole group of local customisers, including me, who believed that lowering anything less than 5 inches wasn't worth doing at all.
Hopefully Lee will find some pics for us.

Hiya Was it a Mk1 Fiesta? We used to have one, it was cool, chrome bumpers and brown interior... nice! ;D No, it was a Mk2...although 'we' (collective for the 'Raving Mad Posse' as we were known) did a Mk1 at around the same time - dark metallic purple with chrome bumpers/window trim/handles slammed over 6x13 RWD Revolutions with 175/50/13s. The wheel centres were body colour with polished rims and the roof was de-seamed. Not your average fiesta.

I have photos, at various stages of the fiesta life. I don't have a flatbed to scan them in so I'm just going to have to wait for them to be scanned at work.
No problem taking credit Si, there was plenty of ideas floating around in your head that helped out.
With regards a bit more about myself, I was going to hold off saying I'm a Graphic designer / Mac operator as I noted that there was already an influx of us already. Slightly older than rmad, a lot balder :/ Currently got a Polo G40 (euro-looker) which has been standing outside my house for almost a year, soon to be resurrected to be sold.
cars ive had...
1978'ish Mk1 1300 sport Fiesta (Grey Primer and Red Oxide Scalloped - Think Si was an influence there), 1983 Mk2 1100 Fiesta (pics to follow) 1963 Splitty VW Camper (my biggest regret selling this) 2 Hillman Imps one was a runner other didnt work 1991 Polo G40
now looking for another old vee dub, most likely a splitty van again but open to notches and squares.
Hope that helps as a sort of introduction to myself

Currently got a Polo G40 (euro-looker) which has been standing outside my house for almost a year, soon to be resurrected to be sold. Why not buy yourself a Mk1 Polo shell and use the bits (engine & brakes) from the G40 to make a rapid-retro car?

Lee (hytesta) has sent me a few pics of his Fiesta from back in the day...remember this is over 15 years ago (yes, the car was almost new!) and well before the phrase 'euro-look' was bandied about! This is it in it's original guise...175/50/13s were almost unknown back then, let alone on a Fiesta! [/img] Here it is being fitted up after a coat of British Racing Green metallic...a new colour we'd seen on Montegos! The wheels are now polished and it's got Ghia bumpers with chrome trim...did you spot the bluedots? Same time, but this time the front, I'm pretty sure that the engine isn't in at this time 'cos my memory of the car is with the tyre right up in the arch...which on 175/50s is seriously low! Note: no badges, no side markers, no XR2 kit...just a slammed Fiesta with shiny rims. That's Lee's Dad's RS'2000' V8 rally car behind...a car we all lusted after!

Cheers for putting those up Si, You are right about the engine still being out on the last image, I also hope you noticed the small pink sticker in the rear quarter window on the first pic

I didn't see the sticker before you pointed it out! I'm pleased I was right about the engine being out...I thought I'd spent these years imagining the legendary lowness!

FInished pics are low on the ground (no pun intended). Ive lost so many photos over the 15 years since that was born. Rmad has one more of a rear view, I think i'll have to ask a few old friends if they have any old pics, but I'm not hopeful. Rmad can you ask Myles.. he may have a few of it with his de-seamed Mk1
