You know EXACTLY how it is. An innocent thought pops in to your head, next thing you've lost a couple of hours to google... It started as "Hmm. I haven't seen an Uno for AAAAGES!". Then it was "hey, those early pre-tipo-lookalike-facelift ones are a REALLY pure design! A production Italdesign Megagamma, the first of the 'tall' hatchbacks." Now, it's "whoah! They've got LOADS OF POTENTIAL! AND THERE ARE HARDLY **ANY** TASTEFULLY MODDED ONES!" I can see what's coming... eBay or autotrader... "one would make a GREAT cheap low-insurance banger to run whilst I sort the Golf..." Uh-oh. Good job I need to go to bed soon, hopefully I'll have come to my senses by morning! ;D oh look, a press photo that's perfect for some photoshoppery:

It's a great idea. A mate of mine had a 5-door (as above) in faded light blue. It seemed to rev to about 8500rpm, happily carried 5 povo student types all day and was all round ACE. A turdo version is kinda holy grail stuff these days I guess... Uno!

You're right Darren, they are a clean-looking car in their original form, and very rarely seen nowadays. Can't even remember when I last saw a facelift one (but of course now you've mentioned it there'll be dozens on the way home).
I occasionally got a lift in one years ago - it had mushrooms growing on the floor even though it can't have been more than 10 years old.

I had 4 of them, 2 turbos which were quick, Mk1s rusted like crazy1 though.

I'm sorry, borrowed one to move house with, it was knackered and was the worst car ever, kangarooed a 70 mile round trip and everything about it was curse word; handling brakes etc. Also driven pandas i didnt like driving, but.... It didnt stop me having silly ideas when i saw an early panda at Sainsurys last week with metal grille and quarter light windows! *thinking cap on*

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

He He He !! . Panda's are great ! We had one around 1990 was a 1985 model same as above i beleive , it got hit head on at 25mph (we were stationary) by a Fiat Strada .. The strada was knackered & wouldn't start again & our little Beige Panda was still ticking over ... LOL ! The 4 X 4 versions were fun too , i always wanted one of those .

Thanks Mr Bo11ox, I poached it from a chav site! 4x4 panda but with any fiat uno or panda i'd have to change a lot of components ideally! spaceframe???

My aunt had an Uno for a while, black with a nasty 80s bodykit, she passed it on to my uncle who had it for a while until it caught fire He replaced it with a 4x4 Panda Sisley, it went places that Land Rovers couldn`t!
