How about matt black alpina striping, but change the alpina texts for something else?
edit: sorry, didn't see that somebody already suggested those, anyway, if you stripe it, solid black stripes is the way to go, colored stripes will look weird on a bright orange car imho.

I'd love to wind the coilies down but it's a car I drive every day and living in London their are just too many bloody speed humps. I'm on my 3rd sump already!
I think satin black striping is the way to go but gonna sort my brakes and fit a shrick 280* cam first.

Busy couple of weeks not helped by the steering rack mounting bushes failing and resulting in cruise ship style handling. I thought it would be a good idea to poly bush the rack but for some reason there are no suppliers in Europe / UK so I had to order them from Bavarian Motorsport in the USA. This wouldn't have been a problem were it not for the fact that the postage was a bloody rip off. Also not helped by them putting 2 little bits of rubber in a bloody great big box! This! For these! Result? A $29 part became $134 by the time it reached me!! I also noticed that one of my rear tyres had disintergrated! How the hell that happened in such a short time since I last checked, I have no idea? Anyway, never one to miss an opportunity, I bumped the rears up from 195/50 to 205/50. I also bought some custom made TCA bushes in an effort to tighten up the front end. I also noticed the effect that rain etc is having on my coilovers! Any suggestions on what I could / should be using to keep the corrosion at bay?

I started doing just that - as you can see in pic. I stopped to ask some advice and make sure but coppaslip is probably gonna work ok.

Well I fitted some new rear tyres yesterday and went up to 205/50x15's which are about as large as I can go without getting the arches flared. I did think about getting some arches like the 2002 turbo ones but have decided to go for some subtle flaring of the standard arches instead. I'm putting the car on the rollers on Tuesday so the tyres are just some part-worns as dynos can be a bit hard on the rubber and I'd rather save the Toyo888's for the road. I'm also having some fueling issues as it's running way to rich. Plenty of pops, bangs and flame-outs but certainly not running as it should be. I have re-fitted a standard ECU and things are much better although it still seems way too rich? I'm thinking AFM might need some tweeking? Any help / suggestions please guys? Superflex have supplied me with the full range of e21 bushes so fitting them all should be fun. The rear trailing arm ones afford some adjustment too so I hope I can dial out a bit of the negative camber? It looks good but makes things far too snappy on the limit. Anyway, I need to sort this fueling problem first.....

Off to Northampton Motorsport tomorrow to give my car a thorough inspection. Also going to get it on the dyno and try and get it running as it should be. Next week it'll be time to fit the brake upgrade and this little lot.

Good day at Northampton Motorsport. Corner weighted the car and did wheel alignment etc etc. F/N/S F/O/S 300.5 315R/N/S R/O/S 261.5 265.549.5% weight distribution Total weight - 1141.5 Kg Managed to sort the fueling issues and reverted back to standard ECU chip prior to fitting Schrick 290* cam. 168.3 bhp @ 6 100rpm 172.4 lb ft torque @ 3 700 The torque curve is nice and flat between 3000 and 5 200 and the engine pulls really cleanly. Considering it's a stock engine and well over 20 years old I am well pleased wth the results. As soon as I work out how to get my scanner working I'll post the print-out.

Damn Mark, you're really going all out on this car! Certainly not making bad power either... I'll have to rolling road my 323i when it's done next month.

I need to do something to try and keep up with you and Misky! Would you be up for bringing your car to Brands for an e21 magazine shoot?

It's a ''mild to wild'' feature so will be good to have a good cross section of cars.
