oh dear. that is the bestest thing ive seen on here for a while, and I have a plan. My Nan won one of these years ago in a raffle, the prize giving was done by none other than the great Jimmy Saville (that alone must earn it 20 bonus retro points!). The poor thing has never turned a wheel, the thought was to keep it in a box for 'prosperity', but is is now almost FUBARD, tyres rotten, the box is a mess, bits a rusty, and this was based on seeing it briefly about 5 years ago. My Uncle now has it, and it still hasnt turned a wheel. On friday I will show him this, and knock some sence into him until he gets his welder out dammitt!
Awesome stuff!

i had a fleet of c5's once apon a time a smart car engine and gear box, is about the same size as the hole in the back, with some clever engine mounts and jiggery pokery to the rear tool box, it would fit!! i did have a smart car engine lined up for such a modification, but the chap sold it before i got the cash together

Christ, smart car engine in a C5? Seriously?
0-60 in six seconds?

its good but.. does mean you can no longer drive it on the road legally.
I'd've been tempted to put a Honda C50 engine in as there've virtually silent with the right exhaust, and of course no smoke, but they're probably the wrong shape.
But still, technically illegal of course.

would be fun trying to kickstart a c50 engine mounted so far back. wouldnt the trike just pivot on the rear wheels.
I heard that Lotus designed the frame. must have taken them a minute to draw a Y on a peice of paper.

That's brilliant, Sinclair missed a trick there, battery power was clearly the wrong way to go!
Good work!
