Inspired by the work of 'Kahuna Creations' in the states,in my spare time I've mostly been working on this. it started out as a rather tired garden tool and some old skool skate wheels. on sunday morning I sat in the garden and hand carved and ingraved the detailing and then got out my rattle cans and laquer. the bare pole with Tiki head. the mounted wheels, laquer coat and paint. friendship pineapple on the rear. another Tiki part way up the shaft. traditional flower pattern on the rear. and the paddle top/handle was fashioned from an old stool leg from the shed.its not finished yet as far as the artwork is concerned but,I've been out and tested it on my longboard at the Brooklands kart tracks and I gives you a full-on upper body work out and is great fun to use. ;D ;D the inspiration came from here.....

;Dthanks guys,I've been working on my paddling technique this afternoon. Its using muscle groups I had'nt realised I still have! at the weekend I plan to finish off the carvings and give the whole thing a thick coat of laquer because I intend to have some serious fun with it.

How do you find it. You inspired me to build one. Had all the materials bought and in the boot of my car. And then my car got nicked. Here are some pics of the results of my first "off" on my lush long board

All the allotment boys have cleared out the hardware store of broom handles!!! so while i wait for the raw materials to hit the shops how did you fit your wheels did you strengthen the stick at all.
oh and for anyone that wants to know your looking at £100 to bring the cheapest one from europe ftw!!
Unless someone nows different??

No I did'nt strengthen it,the handle I used is old hardwood, standard pre-cut handles were cheap but,too short and longer lengths were silly money.to fit the wheels I machined flat areas on each side of the pole so the wheels would have even purchase.to fix them on I used threaded bar and same size truck nuts, they will still turn under extreme load (while braking)but, not while paddling.

Awesome thanks for the info Have a "lush" board but the deck in the picture has been sat outside my front door for a few months so might set that up for the paddle action. Mahope
