I'll take a Roadster! For the truly silly: I saw one of these flying along the M2 recently...the occupants looked like they were having fun...very cold, embarassing and uncomfortable fun, but fun nonetheless! ;D

rmad in da house: For the truly silly
The Crossblade is the ultimate Smart, Robbie Wiliams owns #2 & #3 of the Crossblade. I got to use one for a week, good thing it was summer & sun since there's no roof or windows to speak of but like you pointed out I was driving around with an ear to ear smile all week long.....

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

steb in da house: Did they solve that problem whereby the glass-roof panel would shatter on motorwaysAnother Smart "urban legend", hapened to 2 or 3 cars in Holland and I know that certain serialnumbers got the glass changed just in case.... It happened in the UK, i remember seeing it on WatchDog on the telly!

Excellent things ;D Can be tuned nicely, lots of options and park anywhere... Freind has one that has been thrashed without mercy for 70000ish miles Had trouble getting it through the emissions test though..... Its still a Turbo car, and does not take kindly to being thrashed from cold, or shut down straight away after a ragging..... treat it like any other turbo car and you should be fine. I am looking for a Black convertible at the moment, would love a Coupe "Roadster" but cant quite stretch to that yet

Oh look, here's a car with a suprising amount of space. None. Can't dispute the Smarts being relatively safe. But they ain't is fast and are terribly un-economical from what I hear. Also - flappy paddle gearbox is terrible and needs chipping before it's vaguely usable - again, apparently.

My good lady has one as a daily, which I have somehow managed to blag as a daily. Hers is a really early left hooker, from before they started economizing as usual - i.e 60 amp alternator intstead of later 28amp etc. Very solid little car, and will sit at 85 all day long (and indeed does). I have one about three years ago. Tuned the watsits out of it. 55bhp stock - mine was around 90bhp - 10 more than the Brabus! Absolute nutcase machine, and highly recommended - even unmodified. Only niggle is the slow gear change. I got t-boned in mine by a Pug406. He bent my back wheel in, and scratched the panels a bit - the pug was all stoved in at the front with a busted rad. Ha! Oh yeah, seen this one with a GSX-R engine? ... thekneeslider.com/archives/2005/06/08/smart-car-plus-gsxr-equals-smartuki-a-very-smart-car
