What do you guys think of my potentially next motor? Its stretching the boundaries of what's "Retro" and whats not, but its definately a classic. Its a 325SE auto (Ive never had an auto before!), FSH up to 2003/90k miles, its now at 120k miles and the previous owner serviced it himself. A small amount of rust has appeared at the front edge of the rear wheel arches but the rest of the bodywork looks particularly tidy. It drove perfectly and I was surprised by the acceleration in kick-down. I have NEVER seen one of these with perfect seats (no rips or tears) but this one looked perfect inside! He's asking £1250 ono. If I offer him £1100 would I be getting a bargain?

Ooooh, shiney! That looks nice. I'd say buy. If the provenance is that good and theres diddly rust you're onto a winner. It's not my cup of tea quite (bodykit, too many doors, spackamatic) but it looks great all the same. And e30's are DEFFO retro. 100% cast-iron FACT.

Lovely car, big fan of the E30. I think you might be able to find a siimilar spec'd car on ebay for a little less though.

I wouldn't have a clue about the price, but I say RETRO! Boxy, stylish and RWD. Yum.

Looks lovely If you feel you like it, and enjoy the experience, I'd go for it! Sounds like the right money for a car in that condition, as NickB says! And autoboxes are great

Don't know if it's retro but.. ...if you like it (and if you get it for 1100) then have it. (I can see it''s looked after, has set cover on drivers seat). Just beware price of replacement parts

Just beware price of replacement parts eh? I've not found anything too horrendously expensive in BMW ownership. The only grief I have is finding bits which are unique to my car....

Find that certain motorfactors, exhaust centres etc. seemed to jump up the price (only some). I do hear for genuine parts that BMW set up a 'old timer scheme' for older BMW's with up to 30% discount. How true is this? I know some other Manufacturers do this (My local Toyota dealer explained this policy to me, but didn't know if it was only with some franchise's)

Looks really nice and well looked after, shame it's an auto in my opinion but would make a great retro cruiser. Price sounds about right if it's in good nick.

Looks like a nice, practical motor, I don't know much about BMWs but it looks like a bargain to me!

Its mine! I bought it, I drove it home, I LOVE IT! I'm sure I got one or two sideways glances at it (I don't think I was imagining it) - it does look very nice in the daylight, the colour is really fresh and modern. And feck me, is it quick! I had a 325 manual a year ago and a 320 manual this year and I expected it to be similarly quick to the 320 manual, cos of the auto box. Well, it certainly FEELS a hell of a lot quicker! As I'm not used to auto's, I'll have to be wary of it kicking down on wet bends/ roundabouts etc, cos its a bit lively when you boot it in the wet, even in a straight line! As you may have gathered, I'm happy with my purchase! .....and the noise!

Excellent purchase i've found the two e30's i've had over the last 3 1/2 years to be very reilable - as neither one has ever let me down! My e30 cab is an auto, it's the first auto i've ever had, ideally i wanted a manual but it came up for the right price so i went for it and i've not regretted it one bit, it's nice relaxing lazy driving The complete opposite to the mg! As for parts i've always used www.gsfcarparts.com

I have an E30 and they are great !!!! Shame about the extra doors tho. Mine cost £300 (316 ahem) and its done over 6k needing only a back box (£50).
Fantastic cars.

Dude, enjoy! Sounds like a great buy! ;D ;D My Omega V6 is an automatic. It's a really clever transmission. It holds gears when driving down hills, for example, to get engine braking! Plus it holds gears when going uphill to give the engine an easier time. Needs to, really. It's only a 3-litre. It's great! I love it! I'm
