If you want to know about Nissan VG30 engine conversions you need to talk to Antdat. It's a corking engine, even when lugging about a 300C saloon in 155bhp single cam non-turbo guise. Smooth, free-revving, sounds nice. There are various options for sump, manifolds, plenum etc.
Z31 300ZX (1980's model) non-turbo VG gives 175 bhp, and the single-cam turbo version something like 230bhp (VG30ET). Either of these would get my vote.
Z32 (lots of imports around) has, I think, VG30DETT twin turbo DOHC, about 280bhp.
