Hi all,
I'm confused if I need an SVA or just an MOT, when my car is finished.
I've built cars before (Alfa engined VW, Pinto Escort etc) but these were all pre-SVA days, so they just needed a MOT, as they were already registered.
Looking at DVLA/VOSA websites it looks like it's tightened up a bit now and a tad confusing (could just be the Stella).
It appears that a points based system is now used, with the retention of original parts having some numeric value, and a total score has to be achieved to avoid an SVA.
It all seems a bit vague....
Like what constitutes 'original front suspension' ?
My front suspension has some parts that are original, parts that are off a Supra and some parts are custom - but how do 'they' know?
It all still looks fairly 'factory'
I'm not trying to dodge an SVA if it's needed, just wondering really.

What are your experiences?
Cheers
