Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

its amazing how much mags change over time custom car went a bit autocar in the 80's!
Never saw MP back then though, looking forward to the pics...

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I got given some old early MPs a while back. I was really surprised at how good they were!

What! Reiger kits may be big, but they're not clever!

I think they were very much 'of the time' (shoulder pads anyone?) and I think they may well come back into fashion at some point in the future, but right here and now THEY SUCK!! That's just my opinion of course

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

I've never been a fan of the Reiger stuff, although there was a Mk3 Escort front bumper they did that quite tickle me... No, I'm afraid anything that widens the track at the back on a front wheel drive car should be frowned on, it's a VIP/bozu look for the mid/late nineties I guess.
What's the difference between this stuff and some of the things we see here everyday? The Kadett that was posted elsewhere for example? How come through age this stuff becomes acceptable. I'm only asking 'cos I'm intrigued ;D
Me? I've never liked Allegros... Not when they were current and not now. Same for Reiger...

I never liked the reiger stuff.... or kits in general for that matter. Projects like RS Kicker, the corrado etc. I found to be rather dismal. What I did like about the early days of MP was the 'euro-look' cars from .de that were often prevalent..... a lime green Mk3 escort on 3-piece BBS rims particluarly sticks in the memory.... some of the featured stuff was EXACTLY what we would deem cool right now. Sadly, it soon gave way to plastic stick-on tat, fugly kits and 18-in wheels weighing 4 tonnes each.

This and the white one i do like. But it is strange on a fwd car, however what if.....it was on a converted rwd car, that would be great

A bit back you could access some old mid 90's articles on the Max Power site but they redesigned it and I couldn't find them anymore, they had one about a really cheesy blue XR4i done up with mega BHP if I recall! All just the generic stuff and pics of lasses now. This ad cracks me up though, talk about identifying your market : And the realistic BHP figure makes up for the comically fake top speed - www.maxpower.co.uk/site/article.asp?ID=3975&s=3

I went to a Hot Rod/Custom car meet a while back in Rawtenstall. On the flyer it said "Strictly NO HOT HATCHES" so I was a bit worried about the reaction I'd get in the Golf... I got there, parked up, and this big, stereotypical Hells Angel biker dude walked over. Just as I thought he was going to rip into me, he put his hand out to shake hands and said "we heard you were coming", (a mate I knew went regularly and must've warned them) "lovely to see such an original looking Mk1!"
I was a bit shocked ;D
