£100 maybe.
No more than you know you can get for the detrious you don't want / can sell separate at the end.
Don't forget to factor in your time costs / transportation. The components you need for a 2.0 shuv maybe more separetly, but at least you don't have to pay so much to move/store them or have the untold grief of removing them form the donor car....

I'd like it very much The owner has implied that he'd like to see it restored to it's former glory... Bonnet scoop, side pipes, window et cetera got lost when it was nicked. *n

Bonnet scoop, side pipes, window et cetera got lost when it was nicked. Shame about the window I'm sure someone else said this recently but it always amazes me that Manta As are so cheap, considering how great they look. If you only want the mechanical goodies, I'm with NickB's price, although the axles tend to be pricey; Trouble is, once that's off you're struggling with an immobile shell!

edit: btw: took me a while to post this! Sound like a lot of potential, give an arm perhaps not a leg tho!, Seriously in situations, i'either add up what the parts may be worth or think what is worth to you. random guess 200+ if the shells nice and not past it... does it have price, also add up the work req'd that might put you off!

Humm I would be willing to pay a bit for it, ROT is nothing (I own British Remember) Exhaust would be easy to sort.
Would want to make sure he has all the details just incase its a dodgy thing. But 300 Notes + maybe then again i don't mind if its a dream car

That need's saving. Manta A's are great I feel sorry for the guy who owned it due to it being stolen. Who steals a car like that these days?

Much though it pains me to say, it's probably only worth £200-£300 if it's a bit of a bucket. I'm sure Manta As are destined for big things in the future, but at the moment the values of rough examples seem to be on the floor. Really nice solid ones can fetch a couple of grand. Even good Manta B/Cs have risen in value in recent times. If the chassis legs are sound then it's a good basis for restoration and is worth paying a little more for, if not then be prepared for serious amounts of work.
It would be a real shame for it to get broken up for parts. In a few years time I can see them being really scarce.
At the end of the day, the value of anything is only as much as YOU are prepared to pay for it. How much do you want it? How much work does it need? Are you capable of doing the work yourself or can you afford to have it done by someone else? Etc.
As far as transplanting the 2.0 into the shuv; If it's a CIH engine (most likely) I really wouldn't bother. There are more cost effective (£ per BHP) conversions out there and I doubt you would be happy with the results.

i15.photobucket.com/albums/a366/petrolheed/94_1_b.jpgThe situation is this; my mate has owned this for a while. It was stolen and he gave up hope. Until he saw it on EBAY! The police recovered it. It was dropped off near his, awaitng repair the weekend before last. It had the ignition barrel, side exit pipes, bonnet scoop and driver's window removed whilst it was stolen. Me and him set about collecting parts to get it running and through it's test. Then it went missing again this weekend.... Newcastle City council kindly lifted it as it had no tax. It cost him £155 pounds to have it towed away, impounded and then towed back. He's got nowhere safe to store it and they have threatened to lift it again. So its for sale. It is sound and I would have it if I had the space to store it. The car is in Newcastle upon Tyne. The bonnet scoop and an ignition barrel with key are included.

Is that a fabric sunroof I spy? Cool!
This car looks hard as nails and if it is sound, as you say, it could well be worth more than the lower estimates to someone who wants an interesting project car. Alas, I have no space or money myself or I DEFO would. Oww, it's not fair! *throws tantrum*
Hairnet, get this bought!

How the fugg did it end up on Ebay after getting nicked? And how long between nickage and appearing on the bay? That is bizarre.
Anyway, great story, until we got to the bit about the council’s ‘tax disc nazis’. PS those rear wheels/arches look daft IMO, the rest looks cool, its true those things offer an amazing style:quid ratio.
