Right then, As some know I'm currently working in Holland, Brabant region to be exact very close to the Belgie border. Now after getting totally and utterly pi$$ed off with flying KLM and the delays/cancellations/excuses etc etc etc I'm going to get a small diesel 'retro' (ish) motor to storm across Europe in twice a month. So listed below are a few I'm considering, and any advice on what to watch for / stray away from would be most welcome. Pug 106 Pug 205 ( inc van version ) Pug 309 ( probably a bit too big ! ) Citroen ? Renault clio ( early mk1 shape ) Vauxhall astravan ( early shape ) VW golf MK2 ( specially the van jobbies ;D ) Obviously there will be the obligatory whacking with the stick as the ramps at EuroStar are nice and low, plus I'm loving the matt green paint/black steels theme at present As always cheers in advance J

kpmrj in da house: motor to storm across Europe in twice a month & Pug 106Those two does NOT belong in the same breath!!!! I have driven Stockholm-Münich-Stockholm in a Pug 106 Rallye and would not even think of it again even if a huge wad of cash was involved!!! If I were you and would do a bunch of long Trans Europe Express driving first choice would be an Audi A8 diesel, been looking a several V8's in Germany and a high milage car can be had quite cheap, if your budget is smaller look at a Passat Diesel, good cruiser and much more suited for crusing in style... A 2000-2002 Audi A8 is on my current shoppinglist but have been looking at 2000-2001 Passat too, lower it a bit, some 16" Moon Discs, a flat black coat of paint with some Hot Rod Pinstiping and your doing it in style..... Cheers all for the replies,
Just going through the options at the mo, whether to buy locally ( ie in NL ) or get a uk motor and run it from there. Although prices over here for early golfs etc are SO cheap compared to UK. But once bought I'll be whoring it on here ;D
