I'm actually going to attempt a readers ride on this one..my recently purchased t25.
I bought it off ebay cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270453798567&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT on tuesday.
speaking to the bloke, and going by tax disc etc, its been laid up at least 18 months, and looked like it too. but it came with all the right bits, and the bodyshell is uber straight bar superficial rust, so I wacked 1500 on it, won it for 1220.
after cutting out three times on was home, we discovered after towing it the last 500 yards (typical) that we had spunked 10 quids worth of fresh petrol into the fresh water tank ;D which means it did alright on stale petrol, and in the light we found a ht lead off too. with some petrol in the right place and ht lead connected it fired up...
fitted the new headlight to it and changed a couple of bulbs and a general clear up which lead to this
in the light we found a split charge system fitted too, so we slung a second battery in, and a gas bottle, then fired up the 3 way fridge and got the water system running...
then we went for
after scratching the roof hatch on the beam (it was that tight a fit) it failed on
o/s/f tire perished
o/s/r wheel bearing excessive play
hazard lights not working.
four part worn tyres (£90!) and a vigourous flicking of the hazard switch got that sorted, rushed to get a new wheel bearing set for the evening....and broke the master cylinder. which means more shopping tomorrow and hopefully mot friday.
stay tuned for (hopefully) surface rust removal, satin roller paintjob, interior retrim (dark blue shagpile ) mucho stereo/tv/pc installation and a generous hit with the stick.
rust first, any one have any ideas as whats best to do? flap wheel/fill paint?
