No specific recommendations but the solar ones always make more sense to me than the AA battery powered ones. If I haven't used it for a prolonged period though, I have to 'charge' it on the window sill for a little while before I start welding, otherwise there can be a bit of a delay.

speedglas 9002 series...
EVERY welding supplies store stocks the lenses for them as they are pretty much an industry standard auto mask, not the cheapest but if you go tto have it on your head all day they are comfortable and not too heavy... 2 shade settings on the base model 11+13 so covers arc and mig/tig ok better ones have full range of settings fron 4 (gas cutting etc) right up to 13

We did some mask testing for Mini Mag a few months back, out of the ones we tested the Weld Warehouse mask came out best overall... Auto-Mask from WeldWarhouse UKFor £68 you won't find much better! I still have the Miller Performance mask from that test ( the one in yellow) which now I have the controls a little more fine tuned, isn't quite as bad as it seemed on the day, still not as good though when you look at the price difference! |

I have a parweld helmet, reccomended by the guys on the welding forum only 55 notes. Never had an issue with delay, but I always blink as I strike an arc.

I bought a Parweld after genning up on them on the Mig forum, and got it for a good price as a bonus. I've never used any other make either but I'm really impressed with mine and have had no problems at all. BTW, I've seen various other masks that look identical apart from different branded stickers. |

Expensive, but good, very slim for getting onto tight positions,
Speed of reaction is paramount, the faster the better, no matter how quick the lens is, there is still a point where your eyes are exposed to an arc, although only a milisec, the arc is still damaging your eyes,------------------------- BUY THE BEST YOU CAN----------YOU ONLY HAVE ONE PAIR OF EYES, look after them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had my Speedglas mask now for about 16+ years and it's never put a foot wrong.
( except changed the batteries a couple of times and the protective screen ! )
