how well they work is gonna depend entirely on the lamps and where you point them, don't forget they are not really supposed to give you 10 miles of range, but more to light the way ahead if your headlights are buried in mud or you driving through long grass or nose downwards going down hill etc etc used as work lights they don't suffer with you being i the way of teh lights so much either as they shine over your head.
To be honest they are probably overkill and not really needed in this country unless you habitually work up a mountain in the dark, but they look cool and they do come in handy.
