ok, ive worked out that with having wheels which are 7.5j and offset of 5 with 17/50/13 is doing my car no good As the diff has gone on gearbox, and someone said its to do with the wheels not helping, is there any other type of damage my wheels can cause my little baby Other then curse word the pigs off ;D

If they cause that much extra stress: Ball joints, wheel bearings, drive shafts, steering rack, anti-roll bar (if your Polo has one)........

Not terribly up on offsets, they kind of confuse to be honest, but I'm impressed at the width of those wheels actually! 7.5" on a FWD car?! My Imp's on 7x13s and it's a rear wheel drive car! Incidentally, don't you have any problems with them rubbing the inner arches on full lock or making the steering impossibly heavy at low speed? Not so much to do with damage but that can sometimes happen with enormous wheel widths.

I have a feeling Dom may want your rims...very Berg-esque.
I'd drop back to 6x13 on the Polo.

Yeap sometimes it a pain in the , as i only have a baby steering wheel as they called it a sports one, and i'm not Mr muscles to be honest, they dnt scrub on full lock at all, the only i have problems with is the rear ones, as they on pirelli not dunlop so less strecth could afford all the same tyres:( Well I'm driffent and wanted a driffent car i guess, didnt wanna be the same, and they were driffent, but its just that i seem to go though parts alot on her!

The most common things to go when fitting larger wheels are as already said - wheel bearings. As these are so cheap and easy to fit to your Polo, I wouldn;t get too concerned!

Wider wheels put put more strain on the wheel bearings as already said. And will wear the steering rack and ball joints quicker manouvering at low speed. But that's the price we have to pay! All Polos have front ARBs as they also act as the tie bar. My Polo felt a big soggy to drive when I bought it, here's why... 16 year old bushes that have been soaked in oil for the best part of 10 years I reckon.

fat wheels do not knacker up diffs, someones got their wires crossed there. wheel bearings/ball joints possibly, but don't go changing your wheels on the basis that theyve buggered up the diff.
Your wheels look ace anyway and good rarity value, you oughta keep 'em.

If a diff is designed to take a certain amount of strain / force from the driveshaft / wheel turning.....putting on wider / bigger wheels will increase this force.......won't it? ok maybe ill keep them but someone that put a strain on the gearbox and there off this site aswel no name mentioned So whats causing my diff to go so early Doing a 100mph in a 1296cc Polo with only 4 gears, + 30k miles a year maybe the cause!
