Got the springs off the struts last night as part of the lowering the Datsun 910 project. I'm sending them off to the spring manufacturer tomorrow to have a shorter set made to lower the car by three inches but... some questions. Opinions and knowledge welcome.
The front springs are 9 inches long when compressed into the struts. The backs are 14 inches long when compressed into the struts.
If I make a set of springs that are three inches shorter when compressed than the current compressed lengths will the car sit three inches lower?
Will the ride be affected in different ways at the front and back?
Should I make shorter springs with the same number of coils as the original springs or with less coils? Why?
We have until tomorrow when I send the springs away.
Thanks all,
Charlie
